• Two bengali papers have reported this also. Agreement has been signed and the league will probably beging after the Premier League ends.

If properly executed, this can change Indian football.

Lajong might unjoin from beggar league(I-League) and join this.

Lajong will not abe allowed to take part as they are already in I-League. I dont think they'll drop out of I-League to join this...that standard of teams in I-League is still significantly higher than most clubs from NE.

With all these random leagues coming what will happen to our garbage ?? Will North East fans support Lajong when they have a star league with teams from all 7 states. ??

AIFF by allowing such leagues is only digging their own grave ??

Its actually good for I-League. We can give all these regional leagues such status that the winners get direct entry into I-League 2. Imagine if other regions also take inspiration from this and start such leagues then we wont have to worry much about spreading i-league all over India. With most of the state associations being defunct or useless, this can be a quick way out

Exactly, soon the Indian Football Pyramid will be like this...
1) I-League
2) I-League 2nd Division
3) Regional Leagues (Note: I-League and I-League 2nd Division clubs may only enter a reserve team in the regional league)

important points are:
1. all matches would be televised
2. every team need to work as commercial entity
3. all teams should operate under-13 and under-16 coaching camps round the year.
• Ok so I am guessing that no I-League nor I-League 2nd Division clubs will participate in this league right.
