FSDL doesn't need Star. Infact, Reliance have enough clout to kick Disney out of India if they really want to! You don't fuck about with Mukesh Ambani in India, period.

I don't think any other channel will come forward to broadcast ISL the way it is being done right now.

I hope Star remains the broadcaster. Hotstar remains the best for watching sports as of now. If anyone else gets the rights, let it be YouTube or Amazon Prime or Netflix.

As you said,  Star has good production values & Hotstar is best to watch sports.

Netflix will not work in India,  it's very expensive.

Amazon prime or Youtube Premium should be fine.

 If Disney backout, Even tie-up with Sony is complicated.  As SONY & ESPN are partners and Disney are owners of ESPN.

Netflix has gained a lot of subscribers with its mobile plan but it’s still expensive compared to hotstar and Netflix is limiting itself to entertainment. In future, I expect Netflix, Amazon, YouTube and Facebook to all come forward to sports broadcasting.

netflix and amazon for live sports? they have documentaries though.

but they are subscription based model na. also internet based.

to cater a large population with normal television sets, we need proper sports broadcaster. then only the game will reach the people.
