Actually as the saying goes - nothing succeeds like success...
The only reason there is so much of turmoil in EB is b'cos the I-League has been elusive; Bagan went through more tumultuous times till couple of years back(and it was even bad than current EB's situation); and then Bagan managed to win the League and Fed in two years - so hence the dust has settled down. Had it not been the trophies, Sanjoy would have got the axe; this happens the world over.
To my mind Trevor is a far better coach than Sanjoy and its belittle on the part of the officials to have treated him the way they have; completely uncalled for. Fans would vent their anger, but one needs to understand the circumstances in which all previous coaches of EB - Falopa, Armando, Biswajit quit; the patter was the same. Few players of EB have a bigger role in these matters, courtesy their proximity to few officials - who doesn't seem to spend quality time with the team and instead go by hearsay. Had Swapan Bal been fit enough, the script would have unfolded in a different way.
High time EB do away with players like Mehtab, Arnab, Dika, Gurwinder, Rehnesh, Robert. But with Arnad already declared the skipper for the next season, with Dika his deputy - I see repeatation of the same script ,with Armando once more getting frustrated and leaving the club midway thru the season.
So Mridul to take over as EB coach til Fed Cup- as per media reports
Armando - next season?
EB, in the lines of Bagan have developed a 3 member technical committee to appoint a full fledged coach - Manoranjan Bhattacharya, Bhaskar Ganguly and Tushar Rakshit - all ex EB stalwarts.
