  • Still though, remember who the coach is. I had some faith in him after that interview he did last month but after yesterday, I hope the AIFF are starting a shortlist for the next coach.

This is only going to be happen when current contract of Savio gets over in July(I guess !!!). Ideally they should have looked for one after the SAFF itself.

They should have looked for one after the 2011 AFC Asian Cup. After India got knocked out the AIFF kept on hinting that they would sack Houghton. It took them 3 months after the Asian Cup to sack him after the hinted in January 2011. They should have started a shortlist in January 2011 and decided on a coach before sacking Houghton. The AIFF showed the idiotic side after the Cup. They had a chance to market football after the Asian Cup but they wasted it.

If the AIFF want to be smart now they would keep Savio for the Challenge Cup and after we get knocked out they should take the blame for it while sacking Savio and say "We should have looked for a more foreign coach earlier, the AFC Challenge Cup failure is our fault".

Then I want them to sign Frenchmen Philippe Troussier. He led South Korea in the 2002 FIFA World Cup and is good with developing countries and the AFC told us to get him last year but we ignored them. He will also be the cheapest, good coach out there. Currently he is coaching a Chinese 2nd Division side so it should not be hard to convince him.

After the Asian cup , AIFF was first looking for a technical director & wanted him to help in their decision of selecting a coach. They should have appointed one before the SAFF cup itself. That was the right time. Even if we have had poor performance in the SAFF cup , we should have been quite ready with the new coach by now.By 2 to 3 years under Rob Baan ,we will have developed so much and our national team will be much stronger then. And the NEXT ASIAN CUP marks our NEXT TURNING POINT in Indian football. With a good show in it ,we will for the FIRST TIME grab d whole WORLDS ATTENTION towards us as ZAMBIA did recently in the AFRICAN NATIONS CUP. It was the easiest way for our team to participate in it through these qualifiiers.AIFF has taken a bad decision in not changing the coach.Till now no news has been heard of the new foreign coach.May be they are looking for the best one.Is not AIFF aware that DPR Korea is in the qualifiers or they think that this is another SAFF cup?

Philippe Troussier coaching a Chinese 2nd Division side <!-- s:confusion-seeingstars: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/confusion/seeingstars.gif" alt=":confusion-seeingstars:" title="Seeing Stars" /><!-- s:confusion-seeingstars: --> Has he become that bad or is Chinese 2nd Division the better
  • Better. Anyway I just looked and I doubt Troussier could come now, the Chinese 2nd Division begins March 17th. Also most of his success if from the early 2000s but still as of this moment we could use anyone. AIFF are more focused on the league right now anyway.

ya i too think that aiff is thinking of get rid of all troubles one by one with the way they are doing first they came up with academies, then now the news of new format league may be then for infrastructure and finally for our national team..
i wont be sad if they do get rid of these things before making our national team one of the strongest among asia in next decade

India has a chance to play well
    against Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan
has a bad condition - winter. For
    Azerbaijan, it's a training match,
motivation'' to die, but to win''
    they haven't. India has this
    motivation ...

Still, this is India, not Singapore, dont overrate India. We are not good enough and Azerbaijan will kick our ass.
