From the 2021 season, the AFC Champions League will be expanded to 40 clubs with an extra group of four being added in both the East and West zones. This expansion will take place without any change to the existing slots for the top six Member Associations. In 2022, there will be four more teams in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup – going from eight in the last edition in Jordan to 12 in the next tournament. At present, the AFC have proposals from Chinese Taipei, India and Uzbekistan to host the tournament.
The men’s international match calendar:•To postpone all international matches to be played during the June 2020 window.•To organise bilateral discussions with Confederations concerning FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifiers and to finalise a revised match schedule taking into consideration health and safety developments. (We propose to complete the Round 2 of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Qualifiers/AFC Asian Cup China 2023 Qualifiers during the FIFA dates in October and November 2020 and begin the Round 3 of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in March 2021)
