One question that has been on my mind for a few days now. I am assuming that ISL is a success. So who will hold the rights once IMG-R contract expires with AIFF? Will it be IMG-R or AIFF
observation : I have seen 1 thing on this forum from the start of this saga 99.9 % of the forum members was aghast ISL except @Sam and @samiam now its totally ulta (upside down) 99.9 % are supporting ISL
Those who are against ISL don't want India to get past 100-mark in FIFA rankings. See how Indian football players were happy when they got selected in these ISL clubs during draft selection. I-league started in 2007 and look how clubs like Mahindra United and JCT have disbanded altogether. India was beaten by war-torn Afghanistan in SAFF Cup and humiliated by Japan and South Korea in 2011 Asian Games.
Corrupt AIFF doesn't know how to run a football league due to financial problems. IMG-Reliance offered financial help. AIFF had no other option but to take the bait. Cash-rich ISL clubs will also invest in youth development with collaboration from top foreign clubs in Europe. This is our only hope.
With stadium renovation one of the key aspects in ensuring that a good product is delivered on field, Slack assured that the organizers shall do their best in the given time frame.
“We realize that you need good pitch. We had experts coming in for that. Obviously you need a good locker room to have an environment for the players where they change. Obviously the pitch must look good on television. The production guys will give something never been seen in India. We aim to provide an experience wherein fans go and even take their child. Obviously, work in India doesn't always get fast and there are challenges but we shall do what works best.”
