so the Europeans are coming to a "3rd world" country. I am trying to follow all foreign isl players on Twitter to see what they twit last season Duffy twited a lot about our country. like "No rollers,no hotmix machines,no trucks only labour to make roads #indiaproblems"

@Coolgagan Well it is not fully out of the question for these superstars. I mean, again, some cities like Delhi and Mumbai can provide a top night-life for players and I think we all know that if you have "money" in India you are pretty much living large. Also it is not as if countries in the East have not been able to sign top players. China has managed to bring in some players, as well as Thailand and hell, Malaysia signed Daniel Guiza (who now plays in Paraguay).

But ya, in the long-run I would like to see these teams sign guys from South America or Africa because these places can be hotbeds for talent.

I won't waste my time typing out the rest of the is ISL teams projections excel sheet...

But suffice to say , spending 17.3 Crores on a playing /coaching staff

    • 45Laks on Travel Expenses
    • 1 Crore on Accommodation (staying at hotels etc) expenses
    • 20 Laks on equipment
    • 6 Crores on Marketing & promotional expenses
    • 8 Crores on Operational expenses ( stadiums rent , cops etc etc)
Please tell me how this club will recoup the 65 odd crores they will spend in year 1 ??
IMG-R will make a minimum of 20 Crores from this club , if you work out the kick backs ,

So assuming they get 20 Crores of each club in year 1 , they make 150 odd crores from these clubs ....offcourse they have their high costs, but they also will get a share of the Star TV and advertising proceeds

Not to mention they have Benami holdings in 3 or 4 clubs , so they can hope to profit on flipping these if successful in year 2 !

@Cybertron, AIFF will only get a fixed amount for ISL,nothing more; so do not expect a windfall. Also, IMG-R are not involved in renovation of stadiums for U17 WC. They will not spend a paise.

How many foreign players can the teams sign. Previous reports suggested 3 foreign players. But, I read somewhere that 5 players can be signed. Anyone can throw some light on this?

And why should IMG spend money on stadiums for world cup. They are not organising it. Only those who are responsible for the organisation and those who own the stadiums are ought to maintain and renovate them. They are organising ISL and doing relevant maintanience. Fair enough!

I don't think people are complaining about them spending money on stadiums for the U17 World Cup but that they are not spending money on stadiums for the ISL. All renovations being done are done by other organizations and not IMG-Reliance which is no surprise, they don't own any of the stadiums.
