What we are expecting here guys?Every morning when opening the news paper a multi billion dollar transfer news of top level players to ISL?Then we are living in fools world.Under twenty three players in loan from academy of Brazilian Serie A outfit would not be that bad...
Guys, one request, please provide some unbiased analysis and comments on these new developments...not these kind of comments of sarcasm for each other. This is really deteriorating the quality of discussion in IFN. Within a couple minutes of getting the news you guys are reaching conclusions about everything and commenting like random foreigners, academy rejects and so and so.Please guys, make comments radically with proper analysis of your point of view. Please don't make comments from a biased view that lots of members here has already developed in their minds, like...ISL will surely fail(they are trying to prove whatever IMG and AIFF is doing is wrong) and others that ISL is savior of Indian Football. Please give comments on these developments from a neutral point of view.
Personally I feel everyone on here is expecting way too much from the ISL in season one. Again, it is after season one that will define this league and not season one itself.
@7Negi: Every foreigner is random to indians except those in EPL. EPL is the only league where due to its reach indians know players of each and every team. Even in the case of La Liga, people only know about players from real, barcelona, atletico recently and some other teams. not more than 6. They know nothing or very little about french leagues ( apart from Zlatan) , italian league( apart from the team names) and they certainly don't know anything about any other league. Its just the EPL that people are crazy about.
So there is nothing to LOL about. Any anyways you can never expect players better than this in a country ranked at 151 in the world. And anyways these players will never come to I-League so there is still a positive side. These foreigners are better than that we have in I-League I think.
Again, my personal opinion. I'm just being realistic. Its not that im totally towards ISL. I also have my own issues and I'm also skeptical about the various problem ISL is gonna face. I till now have been only posting for the ISL. I can also post against it. Cause I have points there too.
@goalkeeper: yeah I have been brainwashed. Ambani called me to tell me positive side of ISL and I have constant meetings with Jefferson Slack.
Indians are glory hunters. They are not football fans. Most of them only follow european football only because they think its cool. They know nothing about the players and all.
what!!!!!!! Brazilin academy rejects,40 year old arsenal legend, and few in the drift who can't find a club are better then Zambian international, T&T world cupper,NZ world's cupper,a Cameroon international, Haitian international,???? hahahaha can't stop luffing may be amm baa nee will make you owner of bag ga lor team hahahaha
Common...even academy rejects from a premier league outfit from Brazil would have much higher quality than the foreigners we see in I-league..Maybe this year the trend in I-league is a lot better but still > 50% ISL foreigners would be better than their I-league counter parts..
So guys, lets not be too pessimistic. Though it is hard to see how ISL would lead to future Indian football development, still we have to 'Hope against Hope'..Right? Cause we are Indian football lovers no matter what position it finds itself in the current scenario. We will always remain loyal..
ISL might have it flaws but as of now it has been able to generate a positive vibe among the youth. The regular indian football follower might not find much improvement over the ileague but for most of the new followers, they would find it a step up. More over the ileague clubs gave easy access to the players thus making the celebrity status go down the gutter. ISL on the other hand is hyping up the players as celebs. There is a high possibility that european football lovers might reject it after watching the match. But my feeling is season one would be to gauge the interest among indians and thereafter make adjustments.
On the other hand its not that ileague couldnt have generate such interest but a proper planned rebranding exercise with basic ideas that are being implanted in ISL applied. (share of revenue, joint owernship, increased foreigners qouta, a salary cap etc)
