@archak I agree with you. the older child(I-league) is neglected by his new father and not given required education and called failed produced but the step father(img-r) is all ready building house for his still not born baby(isl)
@coolgagan Most the peoples knows names of the players only from the well known EPL Clubs like Man Utd,Man City,Arsenal, Chelsea,Liverpool etc. who are having some fan base in India. Most of the peoples are only knowing the names of the Clubs. But popularity of EPL so much world wide that if some 2nd class player from the Bench of Norwitch City,Fulham or Cardiff City....all we ll say that current EPL Player is coming to ISL...Thats our perception towards EPL
no one is random here. just think of the Brazilian of Kuwait sc against eastbengal in afc semi. he was so good. but only played brazilian 3rd division before. all 5 players of the list are member of their RESERVE TEAM not ACADEMY REJECTS. among 3 french players 1st one played ligue 2 last year, 2nd one in ligue 1 with ajaccio, 3rd one only of lower league french 4th division. majority of them better tham conference, english league 2, bangladesh premier league, zambian premier league, 2 nd div of usa and so on. except regular followers of i league ask about josh walker, sony, bartos. no one knows.
@goalkeeper: These academy players or the rejects so as you call them, are 100 times more technical, skillful than the current pool of senior indian players. In fact , most of the goddamn players from these football powerhouses are having players technically more sound than us. Why do you don't want to accept this? Looks like you love I-League players a lot. You care for them when they are not being offered clubs to play for. If they are good enough they will get clubs. If they are shite, no one cares for them and they don't deserve to be paid like we are doing in india. These I _League foreigners are reject players who could not find a contract anywhere else and just came to I-League for the MONEY it offered to foreigners. Came to a country with sloppy football and we are ranked 151 in the world. We are not good enough for even lower tiers of European Leagues. Atleast, foreigners that we have in ISL have some experience of playing in good leagues. Overpaid shit. Yeah, you heard it right. OVERPAID foreigners. except bertos or maybe a couple of other good players. others are just overpaid.
may be in coming days sony norde will attract public like that " i hail from BPL ' (statutory warnings : bpl does not stands for Barclay's premiere league it's bangladesh premiere league) beware of shits. )
We have seen I-League long enough..We have seen foreigners like Odafa, Ranty Martins etc,who will never be able to manage the 1st team even in 3rd,4th or 5th divisions clubs of few top level leagues, are being paid 3-3.5 Crores and worshiped like GODs while scoring goals in I-League.Its like "In the kingdom of blind, the one-eyed man is king"
I am also skeptical about ISL but that is our only ray of hope as of now.If they can deliver 50% of what they have promised it can bring huge positive attitude in Indian football.I have seen enough this irritating, slow paced kicking of balls from one corner to another in horrible football grounds.I want to see it no more. There is a huge gap in quality between Indian Football and the football played internationally. We need to bridge the gap.I find ISL as an option.
Guys,we really need some changes now.I don't know if ISL is the ultimate solution or not.No one knows if ISL can deliver what they are promising or IMG is here for doing business or improving Indian Football..We really don't know....but what I do know that ISL is worth giving a chance considering the pathetic condition of I-League in India.
