Not really spot on, the writer is basically speaking as if the organizers COULD have done something with the I-League. Anyway who follows Indian football knows that the I-League is a dead product or a product that would take years and years to make good of.
You could see drushti in most houses, trucks in TN. But, Drushti is not a very likeable photo..it is to avoid any jealousy eyes/thought falling on our property. No TN people will put drushti inside their houses.
Very little research did on drushti..by the club management.
Obviously, people outside India (and outside ISL) are not biased and are level-headed.
"... It makes the CEO’s pledges of long-term growth ring a little hollow, which of course is unsurprising; the ISL is a business venture, nothing more, and this earnestness simply is part of the sales pitch.
If the organisers were really concerned with growing football in India they would have supported the national league already in place in some way, not created a Frankenstein’s monster to compete with it: Boris Karloff wearing tinted aviators, an Ed Hardy tee, picking his teeth with a designer toothpick and gesturing the Quenelle.
Of course it’s a money-grab, why would these stars come out of retirement and travel halfway across the world if there wasn’t money in it?
As despicable and hollow as it is, it is difficult to argue with the effect. ..."
I wish we also were level-headed, forthright and not delusional!
We maybe delusional. But, when situations are not good, humans look to please their minds by looking for alternatives. They want some things to happen so badly that everything looks positive. Humans of IFN are no different.
Drusti is not only popular in TN but also in Karnataka ... Any new house or lorry or bus or paddy feilds we keep it replica of human/face so that birds/animals stay away from our venture ... Hope chennai keeps away the bad doings of indian football... do rightful as their logo says ...
