@Ashlesh as I told before I am not anti ISL I just hate IMG-R for what they did to I league and also little pissed of with signing of Pires by FC Goa as marquee :P
@ArsenalFan700 ".. Anyway who follows Indian football knows that the I-League is a dead product or a product that would take years and years to make good of ..” Why do you say this?... I-league is being Killed by the apathy of IMG Reliance – AIFF Combine.. AIFF has no money was not able to put together a proposal to monetise the I-league , in comes IMF Reliance who are handed over the rights of Indian football Lock stock and Barrel .. I and other have mentioned in this forum ISL is a money recover scheme by IMG reliance to recoup its losses... AIFF has no choice as its Crown jewels are in IMG reliance hand,.. IMG Reliance squeezes and AIFF will do what it is told to do. Its so easy to be seduced by the glamour bright lights and publicity, thats what marketing does, sway the target audience with the razzle and Dazzle... Thats whats is happening with ISL , Logic goes out of the head.. Read any article by any self respecting sports reporter and somewhere it will be said this circus will not help Indian football Standards or improve the our ranking. Why did IMG reliance not put in the Same money and though to promote the I-league?.. Why was the I-league not Spun off into a Separate entity like the clubs wanted and let the clubs give it a shot with or without the assistance of IMG – Reliance. AIFF nor IMG can can give a straight answer to his
@ashlesh.. Indian football fans Have no choice right now, ISL is here and thats a fact, might as well come to the circus and watch the show. Maybe down the years IMG might give “I-league” a fair chance with ISL type of Glamour and Exposure.
@Arsenalfan700, I-league is not a dead product. I-league was killed by AIFF and IMGR combine to pave entry for the money spinning ISL -- and you know it very well ...
Yes I-League is a dead product but that is the only type of domestic competition which is going to help Indian football, ISL with its 2-3 months crap will not make any difference to the game technically. So either awake the dead or just die forever.
Seriously speaking, I league could have not been revived given its condition. What if so much of money is put. Club management remains same. Unprofessional people. And I dont know how many time I have said this. But, it is better and easier to market new product with glamour and fresh faces. We dont need institutional clubs anymore.
That my friend I would agree with you when ISL actually manages to become a good 7-8 month league, till then its all assumptions of "ISL will become 6 month league" etc. Only then we'll know if ISL is alive or dead product :P
