I doubt FIFA worries about the improvement of grassroot development either. Seeing the fan enthusiasm and possibilities of revenue generation, they want to control ISL. And in due course they will definitely try. But IMG/Reliance is not going to agree for this. But i doubt about the profitability of this venture. Lets see.
Fifa benefits if India does well, just imagine if huge country like India starts producing players of Japan quality, imagine the money which gets pumped into the game.
What they want is a proper domestic structure and substantial investment in grass-roots.
I agree. Fifa definitely wants to improve the Indian football standards. They are involving themselves creditably in grassroot development also. But if they see an unofficial league making money (i doubt they ever get break even, if they do thats great) from their product, its natural that they want to control that league. Its all politics.
Question: Will the Infrastructure created for Hero ISL be removed after its gets over?Infrastructure here refers to new team dugouts, new tunnels, electronic boards and other equipments.
‘Kids playing bare footed on a hard, mud pitch. Cows walk around on the street. The people don’t have proper clothes, they’re just wearing rags basically. It’s quite a dirty country and there is rubbish everywhere. - James Keene
