I know-we are far from world class stadium in Football. Although we have reached that level in Cricket and Hockey Stadiums. MLS also started in big stadiums like Giants Stadium, Rose Bowl, Cotton Bowl, Soldier Field sharing it with NFL Teams. USA managed 1994 world Cup with American Football Stadiums. I remember even Los Angeles Coliseum used for Soccer Games.
Now they have nice Soccer Specific Stadiums.
I hope  BFC succeed in making stadium in Bangalore and that will pave the way for such stadiums in future with merged ISL and I-League.

It was easier to use the NFL stadiums as they did not have a track or anything on them... they were literally perfect for the World Cup. The one to look at was the 2002 World Cup where plenty of the stadiums had a running track and stuff... that puts me at ease on the issue but I still believe that one day we should get some football-only or non-running track stadiums.

If hockey can have such stadiums then why not football?

And hopefully that will be the same in football. We have an ISL which can potentially attract some top players and the FIFA U17 World Cup coming... soon.

Let me guess? Because this allows all the teams to pick their own players and thus increase the quality on the pitch and all that bullshit.

Ya, lets see how good this is when we start seeing teams spending way more than they can, nothing spent on youth development in the name of paying senior players, and a lack of parity in the ISL because there are no restrictions and everyone is in a free-for-all.

This could lead to some ridiculous spending by the likes of Mumbai City FC
    or
some ridiculous Bargain basement buys by North East Utd.

Should have some rules regarding the quality....and wage cap

This is purely because of FIFA will ban TPO very soon. Only Clubs can sign players. No Third party ownership

A salary cap would be ideal but I would have my doubts. First of all, this league is ran and operated by a bunch of Europeans and Indians who are used to the European leagues... a salary cap would be foreign to the Indians and "stupid" to the Europeans who would probably propose some sort of "FFP-like" deal.

Also, if there is a cap enforced then I am sure there would be some shady deals that happen to get around it.

ISL team official: "So, we would like to sign this player but we don't have the cap room for him."

ISL official: "Okay... so... just hand me something under my table and the player is yours."
