AIFF XI, represented by All India Football Federation’s Kalyani Regional Academy boys got a walkover against Timor Leste U-16 National Team in their last match of the Asia Champions Trophy 2014 at the Barasat Stadium on Saturday (July 19).
The Match Commissioner and the Referees who were present awarded three points to AIFF XI. The AIFF XI thus, finished their engagements on 11 points from 10 matches.
The Tournament was played on a Home and Away format and this was the first time an Indian age-group Team ever participated in such a format.
The Kalyani Regional Academy boys, however, made the most of the occasion as they played a Friendly Match against IFA Academy at the Barasat Stadium to win 4-1.
Now this tournament is finished for the Indian team what should they do for future? AIFF doesn't have the money to send them to top football countries for further improvements.
what is u17team doing now...really jealous for nepal u17.but feeling happy for them by seeing they played goalless draw to south korea u17 in friendly match...They are improving match by match after losing to india in saff final...
@7negi Good news. At least they will get good experience (in Netherlands) after that debacle in Asia U-16 Championship. They should also make a stop at Germany and Spain if AIFF are willing to pay for it.
Why preferential treatment to Kalyani boy's Mumbai/Goa boys hardly get any good exposure tours/camps...Kalyani Academy just played 9 good competitive games.
