Why does Bagan never take few learnings from their arch rival and give away few awards to the Referee Association on the Bagan Day is an even bigger question than why is it the so called Big 2 still not featuring in ISL!!
There's a talk of upgrading the Jamshedpur Football leagues by the TATAs (JFC CEO) as they have unearthed two local talents from the league and might want to tap into more talent base in the upcoming years.
Also, as it's mostly a PR venture for them till ISL gets huge popularity among masses ,I think they will try to get more Jharkhandi kids involved in it.
Sportscraft Management, Guwahati City FC and AFA come together for baby league
Assam is going to take baby steps for a giant leap as the state will soon witness it’s first ever structured youth league dedicated to kids.
Sportscraft Management, a leading sports management company dedicated to grassroots development and Guwahati City Football Club (GCFC) on Tuesday announced Greater Guwahati Baby League (GGBL) which will be organized with support of Assam Football Association (AFA).
The league which will be organized under rules of All India Football Federation’s (AIFF) ambitious Baby League project and will aim to bring much needed football culture in the state, said Sportscraft and GCFC’s Co-founder Darick Ranjan Deka.
This will be the first time that 6 to 13 years old kids of the state will get enough game time to play, learn, grow and rise as this first season of the league will run for 4 months starting from end of November. The kids will be divided in to 4 age categories (6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13) and they will play every weekend just like any professional league of the world, informed Deka.
Referring to superstar Lionel Messi, he said that Messi started playing professional football at the age of six and up to 13 years of age he scored 500 plus goals which forced FC Barcelona to sign him. “We want to provide those 7 crucial years to our kids which is often missed out because of lack of such youth leagues. That’s why we are still 7-10 years behind from those footballing nations. Decreasing that gap is GGBL’s objective” said Deka.
He appealed all football fans, clubs, organizations of the state to join in this project to make it successful. Official logo of GGBL is also launched by Secretary of AFA Ankur Dutta in this occasion.
According to the organizers, all Schools, Clubs, societies, companies, individuals of greater Guwahati area can participate in the league by forming teams of the given age categories under rules and regulations laid down by AIFF.
For all details and registration process they can contact Kaustab Chakraborty (9706570219) & Darick Ranjan Deka (7002570870) or mail to [email protected].
The Baby League concept is a breath of fresh air. I already like the concept. Only thing is just like all good things it should continue to run properly and improve.
