CFL derby may be played at Rabindra Sarobar stadium. Apparently the stadium renovation work is set to complete in August and the derby could be scheduled thereafter. Siliguri remains the backup option.
Also, Bagan boycotting the big matches seems all hot air. Specially after their signing of Duffy.
Hopefully getting out of Star sports clutches will allow the stakeholders to restructure Bengal football more meaningfully & to make it commercially more viable beyond the derby....
I can see a Pan Bengal league if marketed and telecast properly having decent following in jharkhand/orrissa/tripura & Bangladesh and definitely full houses even for non big two matches if played in districts....
You right there about getting out of Star sports fold and starting anew. But any restructuring has to be approved by AIFF. and they will readily readily kill anything which is a potential competitor to ISL. In any case, IFA is too weak and bereft of any enterprise to take all the trouble.
IFA can fix the kick off timings as 15-30 (non floodlight matches) & 18-00 (floodlight matches at Mohun Bagan Ground & Barasat Stadium). I-League kick off timing of 19-05 at Barasat causes much problem to the fans who come from proper Kolkata. There is only one connecting local train available at 21-16 (for Metro catchers) from Barasat & that too is unreliable as often it is late & the last Metro is missed.
