When FIFA World Cup trophy came to India, Sachin Tendulkar said India has the capability to qualify for 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. But in reality people are saying that football in India is progressing very slowly and it will take another 3 or 4 decades.
I would like to clarify one thing to all members of this forum. Impossible only means that you haven’t found the solution yet. There has to be a solution to take Indian football to the next level more quickly. The positive thinker sees the invisible, feels the intangible and achieves the impossible. There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve-the fear of failure.
@mohammed_87hassan If India as a team can play very well in Cricket and Hockey and be in the top 10 of World Rankings then why not Soccer.
Just think what would happen if there is a soccer match between India and Brazil (if India qualifies for World Cup) and India score the first goal. This will ignite the hearts of all Indians in Asia.
Government, corporate sector, big sports sponsors and world-class soccer academies should invest in Indian football in a big way.
India playing Brazil will not happen anytime soon. In a World Cup... maybe in the 2030s.
India need to now rise up to the level of Thailand, Indonesia, Kuwait, Jordan etc. Then we need to compete with Japan, South Korea, Australia etc. This whole process will take 15-20 years if we pace ourselves faster than the rest of Asia.
Due to India's population and potential the game has the power to improve at a rapid pace, we just need to find out how to do so.
