why do we need an asshole when you are in big trouble .... bending integrity .. hell no .. he don't have anything to offer to Indian football... instead of fix the problem
We do because we don't have an options, PIOs will improve competition for the National team, Jeje and Robin are walking into the team like the deserve to be there.
1> Michael is still a lot better than any of the other Indian forwards.
2> Even if his physicals are going down, his experience and intelligence will help Indians
3> He still has a couple of Years left in him for Indian football standards.
4> By chance Sunil gets Injured, who is going to lead the frontline? Robin? Jeje? Haokip? Uttam?
5> We have to accept we are not that much better than Nepal or Sri Lanka or Bangladesh in reality. Had we been better, we would have been beating them by bigger margins.
6> We succeeded in the past because we had Sunil and Bhaichung up ahead, which is missing now.
7> We definitely need more PIOs who wont piss their pants seeing Gora Chamra.
@7negi Could be but it's not going to harm us. Having more PIO's in ISL will improve the quality, because we'll have Ian Hume standard players on national quota. But seriously guys Indian team looks clueless on the field, we failed to create any oppurtunity.
All this lets prepare for next to next comp talk has been going on for way too long. Every other country in Asia takes help from dual citizen ship players. We need those players.
I am not saying Chopra will single handedly take the team forward, fuck Chopra. But the point is we need better quality players.
The current team needs a winning habit and a bit of Magic. getting comfortable beating SAFF teams should be our first priority.
We cant be doing what we have been doing for the last 20 years, just planning for a competion 10 years down the line. We need victories to improve support and popularity. Which will inject money into the sport and sponsors. And lets be honest, we need to be less fickle about our talent. Ignore Jackie and take who? Mandar Rao? NO. Jacki has shown he can play with flair, we need to think how we can ustilize him to the fullest and make him a better smarter player, not just give up and try someone else. Obviously performances matter.
This apologetic stance is definitely not helping. Let me correct you about Dual citizenship, it's not because of only unity now because when the Law was put down after independence, people were worried we'll have Bangladeshi/Indians, Pakistani/Indians hence reduced nationalism for a newly formed country,no one imagined European countries. Things have changed over the years, businesses will benefit from dual citizenship and having a capitalist party in power will only move towards that direction. India will eventually have Dual citizenship because that's inevitable and a way forward. When? that is the question.
I am not looking just at football, I am talking in terms of investments from foreign Indian investors who would love to invest here if we have Dual citizenship.
Also, tell me honestly, I understand Mandar is a decent player but how can you vouch for a player who still hasnt scored in an I league game yet? Sounds a bit like regional bias.
