If a person of Indian Origin wants to represent India National Team, he or she can leave Foreign Passport, become India Citizen and play for India. Nobody is stopping him from doing this. Izumi Arata did that. Michael Chopra can also do that if he really wants this. The problem is that such people do not want to leave their Foreign Passport-thats the main problem.
Izumi Arata never had any hope to play for any decent side of J - League forget about Japan National team so taking Indian citizenship was best footballing option to him at a same time Europe / US based football players will loose Work Permit once they give up EU / US passport, thats a big risk.
Is there any rule that if a person/ player works/ plays in EU / USA for certain years, that helps in getting work permit later on if he changes his nationality.
I wanted to mean work permit as a footballer where your country needs to be inside 75 or 80 (not sure) FIFA ranking to get a football club in UK / EU. Thats why Sunil could not play for Coventry City.
Actually I heard that if sandhu can manage 3 years at Norway , with a decent playing time he will be eligible for UK visa . Is it true ? If true then this EU leagues can be used as a back door entry.
