Finally its happening....hope the ileague actually doesn't happen this year....its only then will the devil come to the table.....there is no point having an 6-8 team tournaments and call it a national league...India deserves a proper league & if this is the only way to get the jokers' to the bargaining table then so be it....

AIFF corridors talking about a 3 leg schedule...ie each team plays each other 3 times to ensure enough games for AFC criteria

During its inception I-league was not a dead product. It did start with a bang. But over time, it has lost is charm due to various factors which everybody knows of. Currently, I-league has reached the same state as that of NFL before it was closed down.

During initial days, I-league had lot of hype and promotion ofcourse not upto the hype of ISL. But, I-league is dying now. I am afraid similar thing might happen to ISL in couple of years down. Or worse, it might go down the road of IPL with scams and all. All signs are pointing to later. Regardless, I fear we would see very similar scenario in 5 to 10 years from now.

Could be anyone apart from big 2...makes sense for bfc to pull out of such a truncated "league"....even the big 2 are financially stuck..only thing is that indian players are not able to complain like foreign ones...otherwise MB could have been the nxt RWFC.

The big 2 should join the Manyavar BPL....thy can reignite the Bengal rivalry & they wont have to worry about whether the league will be held the nxt season. I am sure Bangladesh FA will love to have them. Goans have GPL to occupy themselves.....the NE clubs can perhaps start a mini NE league....only one who is left is BFC...how will they occupy themselves? MFC are anyways not serious and Zee has bigger plans with cricket city leagues, they wont mind closing MFC.

Supporter-owned clubs don't shut shop? LOL! Come on, how much do you follow football other than the top leagues? What? Are we looking at the Barcelona's or the Real Madrid's who are, lets be honest, practically corporate owned these days. What about Bayern Munich who are the same if you look closely... hell, you don't even need to look that close.

Look at the lower divisions of clubs where the football is not that good... supporter owned clubs have failed plenty of times. We even have some in the US that have failed.
