By not giving the project to JSW, Khaleel & Company have shown that who is the Boss in Bangalore Football. JSW was becoming too big for their comfort. From the article "Khaleel said the proposal submitted by consortium led by JSW Bengaluru Football Club was found to have not satisfied the technical qualification criteria"
The technical criteria JSW did not satisfy was that bidders must have worked on at least two stadiums in the past according to Vishnu Prasad of the The New Indian Express
Good..........at least JSW will be able to save those 525 crores. With this money they should concentrate on Youth development with top class facilities and how to improve in future I-league matches.
I expect it to be a football specific stadium as Bengaluru already have a Cricket as well as an athletic stadium. But I doubt a football stadium can cost 675 Crores as it's being constructed in India with cheap labour and not in Europe.
Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Delhi was built at a record speed by CPWD, a public sector Government unit. That stadium is not bad at all and despite media lies, it was finished well before the time and at very low cost. By contrast, private builders are still constructing Stadium Arena in Ahmedabad despite getting 450 crore rupees and free land since 2009. KSFA should learn from cricket association and keep the control in their hands. Otherwise private builders will keep on delaying the project and escalating the cost.
The only thing I do not like about this is I would rather Bengaluru FC build the stadium and also control it. They would control all the aspects of taking care of the stadium while getting all the revenue from tickets etc. They would not have to pay to use the stadium and they could get paid to host other events like concerts or whatever.
