In Bengaluru, constructions are usually fast so we can expect the stadium in 2 years once the construction begins. Moreover, the contract of 30 years must be including the period of construction to avoid delays from the private partner.

@munna219777 I am not so sure about that. They did take Udanta, arguably their best youth talent, away from the ISL and sent him to England. And they did do well financially from the draft and auction and they probably had little choice in saying yes/no to their players who want to join the league.

I agree that why would IMG-R want to kill BFC. That is why I think if anything we could see some sort of partnership with Ozone and BFC. Who knows... we have years to see but that is what I think is likely.

@atuljg not sure what you are smoking. ...quick construction in Bangalore ?
The metro started in Bangalore when 1 of my kids was in school there...he is now out of school..and the other infra like airport and the roads has taken eons too.
no way the stadium will be complete by 2017...
trying to get the permissions and demolish the stadium alone will take years...especially as it is in the Heart of the city...won't be easy getting big trucks in and out of there.

JSW will concentrate now on building a training centre on the outskirts & use Kanteerava as their stadium for next 5 years , thus making a mockery of the Direct entry rules of building a Stadium

No matter how long it will take... it won't take 2 years, thats for sure.

Yeah, you are right, it will not take 2 years. It will take about 5 years from demolition of the existing and construction of the new, if they are fast enough.

Welcome to the world of Indian bureaucracy.

Greenfield took only 2 years. Don't compare with metro which requires a lot of pillars. Stadiums can be constructed faster with prefabrication.
That said, it'll happen fast only if the contract of 30 years includes the period of construction to avoid delays from the private partner. So the private developer will be obliged to avoid delays in order to recover the money they invest and make it profitable. 30 years is actually too much considering IL&FS got only 15 for Greenfield and 2 years is already over now.

India needs more football specific stadiums, hope the ozone venture is only a start, infact Cooperage is also great if seats are put behind the two posts....with crowd so near, even 7-8k in Cooperage is a great atmosphere.

WIFA should also have floated a tender like KSFA. There'll be takers in Mumbai for sure.
