YBK is getting a very thorough upgrade this time along with 4 other grounds in Bengal, I.e. EB MB Rabindra Sarobar and Kanchenjunga. Most of the posters here haven't even been to YBK and will never be, so stop moaning. Bengal isnt Berlin that we will build new stadiums whenever we feel like it (though Berlin coudnt build a fucking airport in 20 years).
Just getting an annual Bengal league started will help upgrade football stadia all over the state as the local communities will get involved...this is how Goa is slowly developing tilak/duler/raia etc into excellent football specific mini stadias.
This is more practical, beneficial to state football and achievable. YBK development costs a lot of money and I am not sure if all the limited budget should be spent on it.
@deepakc Bengal does have a state league. Every season teams(top 2) from the district leagues participate in it. Sadly, there is hardly any coverage in the mainstream media.
That state league is more of a tournament & a joke like Kerala claims to have a state league, which finished in 2 weeks. Need to get mainstream clubs involved and have it over Sep-march along with a cup (maybe IFA shield), to make it meaningful and get local communities exited. GpL is a good role model
Bengal government is building 84 small stadias all over the state, a la the Bangaon stadium, Kalyani stadium. Oh btw, Kalyani is getting new galleries as well and the pitch has a proper drainage now.
Stop talking out of your ass. And I have travelled a whole lot more than Moscow, intact in 3 continents but that would still not take your sorry soul go YBK.
