India in 2018 FIFA World Cup

Hey guys i m sure u guys r as big optimists as me.so lets discuss things which India needs to do to make to Russia 2018 and what are the things that need to change so that the one and only dream of a Indian fan becomes a reality.

for the first timev since i have been following Indian football (2000) India has a system of age group teams where players graduate from one age group to another and are not lost somewhere in the wilderness.u13-u16-u19-u21-Indian arrows.too many examples of talented young players lost duo to lack of guidance and proper opportunities.To name a few...

all very talented footballers but could not reach their potential duo to one reason or the another.

First and foremost thing, India needs to restructure its league so that all the clubs become professional and have a youth academy of their own...there have been some positive steps towards it and i m sure we r not far away..2018 could b a reality <!-- s:!: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_exclaim.gif" alt=":!:" title="Exclamation" /><!-- s:!: -->

The present state of the clubs in India is really not that great .How many outstanding Indian players have come through their ranks.the answer maybe if i guess hard would be 1 - 2 in the past 20 years.Although i know in an ideal world u would like the clubs to take the lead but looking at the situation until some some fresh young people (rich)come in with the right ideas and proper plan until then the clubs in India will stay the same .There is no point harping about the fact that a bagan,or east bengal need to build their own academies or Churchill or dempo need to have to their grounds.It simply wont happen.We r at such a stage that we need a complete overhaul of the system.and to be fair no one can say we don't want it as the current setup has failed emphatically.

changes are happening in the working of federation,they are getting professional,getting some interesting decisions on the board........these changes are suitably accompanied by some clubs like dempo's link up with danish club,pfc opening its academy....these are the things i wanted to happen....now its about implementing them to the fullest for .....we can expect our team to be for 2022 world cup...if not for 2018...

I agree that changes are happening but I find them too slow.I have been following football of other Asian(ASEAN Region) countries for some time and can easily say that they are miles ahead even though everything between them and us was same 10-15 years back. <!-- s --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cry.gif" alt="" title="Crying or Very Sad" /><!-- s -->

Shankar Mate agreed on the outside it looks like that things have stared happening.But wait r these things really happening.just for example this i league licensing criteria has become a joke really. hasn't it?i mean for the past four years i have heard this nonsense.but still how many clubs are compliant..no mate none .i(f u take these criteria in a serious way).but how many clubs have been barred from playing bcoz of non compliance and the answer is.....

dude ash although i agree with u absolutely that the S.E Asian countries r ahead than us in footballing terms .But u have to take the fact in account that these are footballing nations .But still have a progressed to a level just above India in spite of huge resources both financially and population wise.So for a start they might be good reference point but we have to aim higher if we want to reach higher like Iraq,uae for starters.

Current Iraqi players are of very high level,cause they were bought up in good youth set-up before the war etc.Well about UAE,they have abundant financial resources.They are economically classified as one of the richest countries in the world.No point in expecting AIFF to deliver something like that
