Wow India just about managed to survive Draw. But performance was not good. Sardar Singh, S V Sunil, Yuvraj Walmiki were awful today. and so was Penalty Corner execution. Sardar could not even push the ball once. Once Raghunath tried to spin before hitting and failed. Really Pathetic.
In the last minute of 1st half, Yuvraj walmiki was in Spain's 25 yard line. from there he gave long back pass which was caught by Spain and they attacked. Even Sardar singh's back pass was stolen. and Spain scored in the last minute of the 1st half.
I love reading a fans view on any game mainly on our hockey team's performance... from your view, i can say we are at our best when the teams good to get a better result but make a slump at the end of the HT or FT and get a poorer results... i always wondered whether it is more to do with the mindset and could a sports psycologist solve our issue which has been hugely visible for last decades...
What happened to India's Penalty Corners?? What is the coach doing?? Same people same mistakes. For successive 4th match in a row, they cannot push/inject the ball for PC. If they do so, then they cant stop. I see the same people in the set up- Sardar Singh, Manpreet Singh, Raghunath committing same mistakes. This has happened 6-7 times. In last 2 minutes, Yuvraj Walmiki was in Malaysia's 25 yard line, yet he gave long weak back pass which triggered Malaysia attack and somehow Sreejesh saved India otherwise there was another goal in the last minute. Is this Aussie coach listening??? same mistakes 4th game in a row. If Coach or players are not able to rectify these basic mistakes, they need to be removed from the squad. Give other people chance.
India will be 5th in the Group out of 6 teams. So India will play most probably South Korea for 9th and 10th positions. Last World Cup India was 8th so this year performance was worse.
