India will play Serbia in Davis Cup World Group September 12th to 14th.

Bangalore wrong choice of venue. In Davis cup, host country plays to home advantage. Bangalore has cool climate by September and it will suit Serbians. We should have chosen Chennai which is hot and humid and Serbians will become tired quickly there. Also in the past, most of our success in davis Cup has come whenever India played on Grass Court. Foreign teams make things difficult for India while we like fools are offering cities with pleasant climate and Hard Court which will suit Serbia more.Local politics (money making) is given preference over national interest.

@archak No chance but atleast give a fight and take advantage of the conditions. India has a proud history in Davis Cup. We have defeated teams like Australia, France in the past in Davis Cup. Two important components are there for India victory- Grass Court and Hot and Humid climate. You leave these two plus points and prepare for 5-0 whitewash just because we dont have any chance.
By the way Bangalore hosted India tie against Indonesia last year too. Last time India played Brazil in Chennai, we won 3-2. That was in 2010. Surely Chennai could have hosted it again. We need to give some chance to us.

In cricket we prepare flat or spin tracks to win at home-not fast bouncy wickets.

Another pathetic display of India Hockey team against Australia 4-0 loss. India was saved further humiliation and they deserved to lose by 10 goals but for the following reasons:

    1) Brilliant performance by Goalkeeper Sreejesh.
    2) 3 players of Australia got injured- Knowles, Dwyer and Swann. So Australia played 2nd half lightly.

Australia could hav played without goalkeepar also and it would have been same result. India did not manage even a PC.
Raghunath had worst game. 2 of Aussie PC in which they scored goal happened because of Raghunath Foul. and once he was removed from defending PC due to arguing with Umpire which resulted in India defending PC with one less player and another goal. There is something strange about Raghunath. When he is defending inside D or India's 25 yard line, he cannot clear the ball or scoop or do aerial shot and mess it up by trying to do back pass. When he is in attack or take free hit in opposition half, one needs a shot on ground but there he will play aerial shot which is termed dangerous and India's attack fizzles out. Raghunath should be removed from India team. Oldies Sardar Singh and S V Sunil had equally pathetic performance. Side passes of Sardar Singh are very predictable and snatched by opposition team. Sunil just knows running on the side line and moving into impossible angle to even deliver any pass.

On 14th june, India will play most probably South Korea for 9th or 10th place.

So 1 place lower then last time. Last 2010 World Cup, India finished 8th.
In 1994, India got 5th place. After that it is consistent with lower positions.
