  • Gaston Merlo would be a good signing..He's been the top scorer in V-League 3times in a row from 2009 to 2011 and is currently the 2nd highest scorer

Not bad. See, great foreigners even from South America are available in these leagues.
  • Back to suggestions...

My Red Bulls today began roster changes early in the off-season and cut 4 players. One of the players was Teemu Tainio. A defensive midfielder who played for many reputable clubs like Auxerre (France), Ajax, Sunderland, Birmingham City, New York Red Bulls and most notably Tottenham Hotspur. He has always been a regular at all the clubs he has been at (exception being Ajax).

Anyway at the age of 32 Tainio wont be looked at much by scouts and his salary this season was $200,000 for a full-season. That deal was signed 3 years ago and now I am sure he is willing to lower is salary. However he may retire which is the only concern. He had surgery last season but came back for the end of the MLS season and has done well.

He is also a Finland international.
  • > mahesf said: > Dempo is rumored to linked with Tunisian and Algerian Strikers and a Midfielder from Egypt out of 3 players 2 will be signed by the club name is yet to be revealed

As replacements for who and would the Algerians be French born or real Algerians.
  • So the transfer window is about to open again. Who would you like to see in India? For me it is these guys...

    1) Denis Marques: 31 years old. Brazilian. Currently plays for Santa Cruz in the Brazilian 3rd Division. Was the 2012 Brazilian 3rd Division top scorer. He also played in the J.League from 2007-2009.

    2) Pedro Júnior: 25 years old. Brazilian. Currently plays for Vila Nova in the Brazilian 3rd Division. He played in the J.League 1 and 2 from 2007-2011. He was the 3rd top scorer in the 2012 Brazilian 3rd Division.

    3) Roy Krishna: 25 years old. Fijian. Currently plays for Waitakere United in the New Zealand League. He has 14 goals for the Fiji national team in 22 games. He also has 47 goals in 81 games for Waitakere. This guy could increase our level of play at a cheap price and increase interest from OFC.

    4) Manel Exposito: 31 year old. From Spain. Currently plays for Auckland City in the New Zealand League as well. He has 15 goals in 25 games in New Zealand after 3 seasons. He is barely used anymore and I bet a club like Sporting Goa (Spanish coach) would love to use him on their team.

    5) Ian Hogg: 23 years old. From New Zealand. Currently is a Free Agent. He last played for Portland Timbers in MLS. He is a New Zealand international with 4 caps and 1 goal which came against El Salvador in a friendly. He would be the ideal defender for Dempo who could use an experienced, young, international defender.

    6) Juan Pablo Angel: 37 years old. From Colombia. Currently a Free Agent. He last played for Chivas USA in MLS. He is a former Colombia international with 9 goals in 33 games. He has formerly played for Aston Villa in the Premier League. He would be expensive (Carlos Hernandez and Odafa Okolie) but unlike both (or Odafa) he is worth every penny.

    7) Peguero Jean Philippe: 31 years old. From Haiti. Currently a Free Agent. He last played for Fort Lauderdale in the American 2nd Division. 21 goals in 26 games for the Haitian national team. Former MLS player. A club like USFC or Sporting would love him.

    8) Luis Boa Morte: 35 years old. From Portugal. Currently plays for Chesterfield in the English 4th Division. He has played for many great clubs like Arsenal, Southampton, Fulham, West Ham, and recently Orlando Pirates in the South African league. He played for Portugal from 2001-2009 grabbing 27 caps. He is a defender.

    9) Tyler Hemming: 27 years old. From Canada. Currently plays for Forest City London in the American 4th Division. He has 2 caps for Canada and has played for Toronto FC in the MLS and mainly in the 2nd Division of American soccer. He is a defensive midfielder.

    10) Shi Jiayi: 29 years old. From Singapore. Currently plays for Home United in the S.League. He is a midfielder.

Except for the old Colombian the list is decent.

I can see him doing well at United Sikkim or Sporting Goa but not much else. His CV (only thing we can rate him by right now) seems decent at best. Good find for USFC or SG.
