Yep and either way the national team is not the #1 priority on our lists. Having a strong domestic league and good youth development are so lets focus on these instead of having false hopes on PIO's.

Govt should allow PIOs to represent India not only in football but also in other sports. These nincompoops should<div>realise that it'll help us & improve our dismal showings.</div>

I just met some of the junior lawyers in Delhi who are working with Rahul Mehra on the PIL cases against various Sports bodies in India with regards to the Sports Code . <div>In their opinion the law will take a very long time for the dual passport or fast track to an Indian passport to happen BUT the reason the OCI card was introduced was to by-pass this issue.</div><div> In the lawyers opinion, if you have a OCI card you should be able to play for the Indian National team in any sport & can challenge the respective Federation if not allowed !
These guys will gladly take up the case if a players is deserving.
We are telling Netan to get his OCI application ASAP, and then we can have these lawyers pave the way for deserving players to play without giving up their passports.</div><div>OCI card players will have more legal ground than a PIO </div>

JUST FOR REFERENCE:<div><br></div><div>OCI is Overseas Citizenship of India</div><div>ELIGIBILITY:</div><div><div>A foreign national, who was eligible to become citizen of India on</div><div>26.01.1950 or was a citizen of India on or at anytime after 26.01.1950 or belonged</div><div>to a territory that became part of India after 15.08.1947 and his/her children and</div><div>grand children, is eligible for registration as an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI).</div><div>Minor children of such persons are also eligible for OCI. However, if the applicant</div><div>had ever been a citizen of Pakistan or Bangladesh, he/she will not be eligible for</div><div>OCI.</div></div>
