Should IFA change their name?

  • 1) The English FA and Italian FA are the top football associations of the world. Why would they change there name. FFA needed a revamp.

    2) I dont get why it is so hard to understand. Is it some Kolkata/West Bengal pride thing? The last 100 years have been a sham and we all know it. What has Indian football done in its first 100 years besides doing great in a shit Asian Football scenario till the AFC decided to wake up, after that it has been downhill.

    3) The IFA has lost its power. IT IS ONLY A STATE ASSOCIATION! It shall never be the top dog again! It shall always belong to AIFF. It shall never change. Make it known. Even top INTERNATIONAL, NOT JUST ENGLAND have messed it up and now AIFF is getting beaten for this. Do you know how many times I had to comment on articles saying that the IFA and PLS are not the top association and league of India. SO MANY TIMES!!!!!! If it is necessary then you do it. Fuck history, fuck pride... just do it.

you are absolutely correct on your points but once you get to know about the persons who run sports in india ...u wont say that again, because here all want to show their power irrespective of its importance and the influence and here the in this case also the same thing might be the hurdle between yes or no of the change of name IFA

If that is the case then good luck football. We shall never improve. We shall always be the sleeping giant. We shall be the country that Euro clubs will come to in order to help themselves. We could have made the great jump that places like Japan, USA, Australia made but people on here and who run the associations dont care. Rather have it the way it is. You know what lets go on like this. Nothing will change. It will always be false promises. Good luck Indian football... you will need it.

that is the reason why everone want the involvement of corporates and sports personalities to the top body so that the hope of change is reinstalled in minds of fans
  • I know but we dont need that. We need BRAINS!!!!!!! Why people dont want a change is beyond me. We have been doing the same shit for almost 100 years and the same league format for 16 years. WHAT HAS CHANGED! NOTHING! Look at Indian football. We were the first to start a sports league in India yet we are way behind IPL and LESS THAN A YEAR OLD WORLD SERIES HOCKEY! Even sports like AMERICAN FOOTBALL are ahead of us along with Tennis and Volleyball. Even Basketball will beat us soon. We have an easy task and there are corporates willing to help. Look at Pune FC. Look at the sponsors they have all because of there model. If the rest of the league does this than even bigger corporates will come in. How hard is this to understand. We shall always be in the shadows. Also why is AIFF doing a 16 team league and why are we with IMG. We are not working with the International Sports IMG we are working with there shit Indian branch. Just watch as more and more teams fall. Watch how many football fans come up only knowing the Barcelona's of the world and Manchester United's of the world and wont care a damn about the league.

Right now I am all for the Indian Football Clubs Association and Football Players of India association to form a breakaway federation called the Indian Football Federation (IFF) at least they want to improve Indian football.

    yea we need change drastically...
right from top to bottom we need to get some real professionals who would know how to run this highly profitable field named football in india which has huge following (an estimation of around 130+ million people)in recent years thanks to european football

But you see, we live in lala land where everything in Indian football is okay and that we dont need a drastic change. All we need is a 16 team league with teams like Chirag United, HAL SC and good old Army and Bank teams.

    Next season we need this...
    16 Teams:
Teams: Mohun Bagan, East Bengal, Prayag United, Pailan Arrows, Chirag United Kolkata, Dempo SC, Salgaocar SC, Churchill Brothers SC, Sporting Goa, Vasco SC, Pune FC, Air India FC, Mumbai FC, HAL SC, State Bank of Travencore, Indian Bank Chennai, Royal Wahingdoh and Mohammedan

That looks so much better than 10 teams.
Teams: Mohun Bagan, East Bengal, Prayag United, Pune FC, Mumbai FC, Dempo SC, Sporting Goa, United Sikkim FC, Shillong Lajong FC, Royal Wahingdoh FC

Also we should have a 40 team 2nd Division with ALL CORPORATE TEAMS! We need ONGC FC, MAHINDRA FC, TATA ACADEMY!

We shall improve from a sad 158 in FIFA to the SUPER AMAZING 150!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!

This is no joke. Look at all the great footballing countries who have done this. Look at places like Pakistan or Afghanistan who have beaten the great teams like Spain and Netherlands. Also did you know that the leaders of the Premier League are Manchester Toyota Motors FC. Ya I know. Also forget Arsenal, we are now Royal British Army FC.

Also the New York Red Bulls have decided to become Red Bulls United FC so that Red Bull Energy Drink get full rights. Even in Spain Barca are now Royal Bank of Spain FC and Real Madrid are Royal Spain FC. Even in Germany it is a 40 team league with all 40 teams buying foreigners and great footballers like Odafe and Martins and super player Daniel Zeleny.
