I think one reason why pune is not getting many fans is because of the lack of local stars. How many players from Maharashtra play in the first eleven of Pune? For me, I would not have gone and watched all matched of Chirag united kerala. in Trivandrum if there were no players like Vineeth, asif, usman ashik and ajayan who all are keralaites. I wanted to see my local players playing and wanted to cheer them. I would never have gone if there was not a single kerala player no matter what the standard of the game is. Similarly pune should bring players lie George Alwyn and Sandesh Gadkari to give it a more local team sort of appearance. Agree?
So, are we now knowing why the club only has the budget for the one Senegalese forward from the Mumbai Football League... a coach like Birmal... and overrated and past it players like ND Pradeep and Mohammed Rafi. Money, Money, Money... thats all they talk about. Where is the Manchester City of India. Look at them now. Look at how they have improved English football. Avoiding that would be the victory. I do think that Dodsal will wait till after promotion however before signing Mikel... 2nd Division is not for him.
I still think one of the big clubs here should sign him... East Bengal has a spot left (money is a huge huge issue though) while Dempo, Churchill, Mohun Bagan and maybe Prayag United... get rid of Bello Rasak (great player though) and sign Mikel. Who knows.
Mikel isn't coming to India, and certainly not to a 2nd Division team !
It is so easy to start rumors these days & hype.
He's an ex-Man Utd player and will get twice as much in the Middle East than the top spending Indian clubs....
Dodsal looked good at their practice sessions at Father Agnel, and hope to see them in IFA Shield to gauge their strength vs. I-League (reserve) teams.
At this moment they are 'favorites' with perennial fans Mohd. Sporting to gain promotion.
Of course... shall we start the I-League 2nd Division with the usual favorites, Mohammedan SC, Vasco SC, SESA, Southern Samity, Ar-Hima, HAL, and newly entered... Dodsal FC.
Please... add them to the list of clubs that tried and failed.
