today I was actually happy that coach atleast didnt start with Lenny and Francis..dont know if it was due to fatigue or he wanted to see what the rest wud offer..anyways same old result..now we can understand how this team drew with BFC...</span><b>To be honest our defence was decent so far in tournament and Raju Gaikwad has not made an appearance yet</b> :)

<br><div><br></div><div>That is probably the biggest thing so far. I mean, imho, I thought we could have done better to prevent both goals today but regardless our defense has been able to hold down the fort well. We need to improve our attack. Again, today and the other matches have assured me about either of our other 3 strikers and Chhetri has hit rough form at the wrong time.</div><div><br></div><div>Before we had plenty of good strikers in Sunil Chhetri, Baichung Bhutia, and IM Vijayan etc. Hell, even Abhishek Yadav provided some decent depth. What are expected to do when our 3 back-ups combined for only 13 goals then you know we are in trouble up front.</div>

WTH we lost to Nepal. I watched India-Bangladesh game while sitting at Munich airport and I say we were just lucky to make it 1-1.I wish somebody can buy one KLM Airlines ticket for WIM from Delhi to Amsterdam. We will probably face Maldives in semifinals. This is gonna be worst SAFF cup performance by India ever.<br> :P

You are happy with the defencetoday lol....I'm still remembering 2009 when we thrashed them 4-0 and were not convinced.

Bob played crap style but he would atleast get the job done.

<br><br>Team selection was better in Bob days. Wim Koevarmans actually travel more in domestic circuit then Bob who was marooned in Goa-still his team selection is not good nor strategy. It will be difficult for Wim to continue after this tournament. Coach has to take responsibility after repeated failures-thats the way football is. <br>Anyone remembers how much criticism Savio Madeira faced when he was coach at last SAFF Cup-still he got the job done.<br>

Relative to our Strickers and Midfield yes, our defence was better(only just). Every ball they cleared it came back at them immediately throug out the match. Our Midfield failed provide anything going forward or in shielding the defence.
  • india has adopted new style of playing footbal which is ok and good but problem they unable to keep the ball with them as well with mates .<span style="background-color: rgb(153, 102, 51);">WE NEED QUALITY STRIKER </span>.we mssed many chances in nepal boxes.

<i><b>"Team selection better in Bob's days"</b></i><div style="font-weight: normal; font-style: normal;"><br></div><div style="font-weight: normal; font-style: normal;">No way man...atleast not in the later days...everybody cribbed about Bob's selection...but Bob was a much better motivator, the players used to give a lot...and Bob also played the way these guys play in I League...thats why in Asia Bob's and Toal's disciplined organised direct football working so well.</div><div style="font-weight: normal; font-style: normal;"><br></div><div style="font-weight: normal; font-style: normal;">Wim's system is more of a mixed bag now, he uses a formation for more tactical football but ends up playing a more direct approach for which you dont have the right people (both numbers and physique) upfront...also all most players here are very inexperienced.</div><div style="font-weight: normal; font-style: normal;"><br></div><div style="font-weight: normal; font-style: normal;">However, according to me the main problem is not the mohanraj issue or the left wing..if u see any top team with a 4-2-3-1 formation (u can call it 4-4-1-1, 4-5-1 whatever, because 4-2-3-1 comprises of all these, it is flexible unlike the organised 4-4-2which remains 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 for most of the game)...coming back to 4-2-3-1...all the team which use it has a fantastic creative player behind the lone striker...so even if the lone striker is not getting goals, the guys from both wings and the CAM/support forward contributes....and also creates goals, troubles opponents...</div><div style="font-weight: normal; font-style: normal;"><br></div><div style="font-weight: normal; font-style: normal;">The main thing is that the best player of the team mostly is that CAM. however, in our case we have alwyn or jewel..i used to belive that alwyn will eventually dominate that position, but clearly I was tooo optimistic...and thus, now that position is one of the weakest we have...now u cant have alone striker there with poor support from behind...to top it the wingers are not that good too..</div><div style="font-weight: normal; font-style: normal;"><br></div><div style="font-weight: normal; font-style: normal;"><img src="http://ussoccernumbers.files.wordpress.com/2010/08/4-2-3-1.gif"></div><div style="font-weight: normal; font-style: normal;"><br></div><div style="font-weight: normal; font-style: normal;">for examples of world class players who made this CAM position in 4-2-3-1 formation - Zidane, scheider, Bergkamp, Goetze, Hazard...what i am saying is that the teams top creative player needs to be the player behind the striker...jewel raja clearly doesnt fit that bill...and alwyn  not showing that kind of maturity..without this i am not sure how Wim's team is gonna get the goals...opponent is happy shielding Sunil</div>
