cooperage is getting ready ..den whts d problem..(even if the stands are temprory )
Will the stands be there next season? We need a full time solution for Mumbai... we are a bloody professional football league, we can not have uncertainty of whether we can even have a stadium for at least half a season.
Unless a permanent situation can be found in Mumbai for at least 2 seasons then Mumbai should not be in the I-League. No point in having a Mumbai team playing in Pune and not getting any fans. I would rather see a Mumbai side come in, stadium already ready, and fanfare already established. That is how it should be.
in tht case there wont be any team from mumbai for next 10years .....
So be it. Who cares.... I mean, I care but if they can't find a suitable situation then why do they deserve a team. Do we want a professional football league or do we want some semi/amateur league?
one think iam not able to understand is tht ,if they are planing a permanent structure around cooperage (for fifa u17)why d hell they are spending money and time for this temporary stand

There is court case going on between Local residents and WIFA. Local residents are against stadium. Bombay High Court allowed temporary stands for 3 months so that football matches can be played (local MDFA games). After 3 months, local residents will call police, Mumbai Municipality people and seal the ground if stands are not removed. Local residents are very powerful. They went into Supreme Court now against Cooperage Ground. Later on they will again go for appeal even if Supreme Court gives decision against them. local residents are desperate-sometimes they put a court case thru NGO Awaz claiming noise pollution, sometimes they claim that their heritage is destroyed by construction, sometimes they claim that their freedom to walk and open places is hindered by stadium.
