2) Two teams promoted from I-League 2:

3) Corporate Direct Entry:
At least One, maximum Three
League Committee Chairperson Mr Hmar said, “As per Target 2026, we aim to have 14 teams in the Hero I-League by that year, so we will take the call on how many clubs will gain entry based on the strength of the bids that we receive."
