They would literally be going from defeating the 2011-12 I-League champions Dempo 2-0 to beating Royal Wahingdoh 2-0.

And this so called revamp, whatever it is, won't work. This is all disillusionment from the AIFF and a bunch of 2nd Division clubs who would also provide nothing significant to the I-League if they were promoted.

Now the game is turning interesting :). AIFF is on back foot, IMG is pushing AIFF to release Indian players for proposed IMG league, which is somewhat out of AIFF's jurisdiction. New franchises are pushing AIFF to provide he revenue share model, which is infact handled by IMG. Looking at the situation, I dont think AIFF will be able to grab more than 1-2 franchise teams. AIFF-IMG deal is turning bad to worse now. Let, see what has this AIFF-IMG-Franchise drama has in store for us ;)

What is proposed IMG league? Clubs like East Bengal, Dempo will play in IMG League? Or these corporate clubs will play in IMG League? or some city based teams will be formed like Delhi warriors and clubs will loan players to them? Dont understand-first we have to make corporate clubs, then also city based franchise for IMG League???
At the end of the round-robin we would have a semi-finals and final.

It is basically a 1-2 month publicity stunt which is expected to help Indian football. It won't. It will be a failure. We do not have the infrastructure, the finances, or fans to make such a thing work yet. IMG-Reliance do not understand how fragile Indian football is. It needs to be upped gradually.

And this stuff with the I-League will not work either. Confusing. Corporate clubs and normal clubs like East Bengal will loan players to IMG Franchisee based league. First they have to find corporate clubs. Then they will have to find franchisee who will loan players from clubs to them. What will they do about Mumbai then-no stadium.
IMG is biting more then what they can chew.
I dont mind a tournament for corporate clubs as long as they play their own players. like calcutta clubs play in their Calcutta League-let corporate clubs play in IMG League. Why do they need players from other clubs?

First they were talking about stadiums. Now how easily Corporate clubs have removed this clause of building stadiums. Now it is about leasing the stadiums. Mumbai Tigers will lease Pune Balewadi Stadium. That is precisely what Air India was doing. Now even that 3 crores fees is too much for Corporate clubs. No benefit in having these so called Corporate clubs.
