I am for the dismantling of this I league as early as possible. These teams can continue to play in Goa Premier League, Bengal Premier League, and North East League if they want but not in an All India League! Bengaluru FC however is good enough to be added in the ISL. Franchisee based ISL is the future and it has shown it's potential. The club based football has failed miserably and we know it. Nobody now knows that a tournament called Federation Cup is going on or the I league is going to start.I feel sorry for clubs like Mohun Bagan and East Bengal but It's simply not acceptable that teams like Palestine, Kuwait can qualify for the Asia Cup but not India!
Calm down newbie. ...without Federation Cup..and i-League. .There will be no AFC Cup or National team.
I-League clubs have produced the likes of Romeo's ...Mangi's etc and they have the youth teams and some have or are trying to build some infrastructure or youth development
ISL is a nice cherry on cake....but you need the cake !!
IMG-R (sabotage ) along with usual AIFF incompetence is screwing up Fed Cup and I-league ....not the Club's fault
how many times you will rebrand ? address the rootcause fix the shit ... if you odnt address the rootcause ISL will also become I-League in 5 years time ... This is football .. you cannot play for 3 months and sit for 9 months ..
Kerela Blasters haven't paid last payment to foreign players , still owed bonuses....
Bonus very grey area as it was written " at the managements discretion...."
End of the day I-League or ISL , same type of owners / admin......when the dust settles we all saw what IPL was...a very corrupt betting smokescreen....
I enjoyed the ISL , and especially the atmosphere in Goa, and was very pleased with FC Goa turn out... but we saw what happened with ticketing at Semi-finals , and now the salary things are unfolding...
Give it 2 years and we will also see the 1st ISL fold , just like Deccan Chargers or Kochi Tuskers or Pune...whatever the fuck they were called
Completely agree with Gaffer, ISL is a nice cherry but the cake still is I-league. ISL is a nice distraction but I-league is till our main dish. ISL laid paper over cracks, Its these cracks that we need to sort out. I think its a decent wake up call to Indian football having ISL, Remember before ISL came, The I-league 2013-2014 was much better than any other previous editions. Its slowly getting better.
If the marquee rule and strict Club licensing are carried forward in earnest you could see a better I-league this season.
The problems is what we need to address is Grass root level development, Infrastructure, Money & most importantly Fans and TV ratings. The last bit we have our own example of IPL & ISL. Look at them for inspiration and the remaining will need working. As a fan am happy that Indian football is now 8-9 months of the year. Isnt that the first step towards much more professionalism?
Seriously? BFC winning just ahead of EB despite them putting a double over them and in front of crowds is not better?
For me best ever season is still the 1st season of NFL, JCT winning it in the last match and the team doing the dives infront of a packed stadium still is fresh.
