It's not just Indians, shankar. How many will support an Elche or a Malaga over a Real Madrid or Barca. The more titles you win and the more matches you win, the more fans you'll get.
yeah glory hunting ,, tomorrow Imagine barcelona get relegated and u will stop supporting them and Malaga start winning la liga , u will support malaga ..
@atuljg Just putting it out there. I am an American-born Indian/Englishman. I support Arsenal FC because they are my "local" club. Same with the New York Red Bulls and Wolverhampton Wanderers. I have family ties to them and local reasons. I also support the US and England because of where I am from.
My Indian roots come from Punjab/Haryana. We have no team in the I-League but I don't care. I do not support an I-League team, even when JCT was there, nor do I support an ISL team. Instead, I support all of Indian football, I support all of the I-League and ISL and support for a better tomorrow in Indian football.
You should try that too... especially since you are actually in India. If not, then I respectfully ask not to comment on these threads. I watch the EPL, MLS, A-League, J. League, Championship, La Liga, Budesliga, NASL, USL Pro, and Serie A regularly... I-League is the worst league I watch regularly but I keep it up cause I am Indian and I want India to do well.
Okay, I accept I've been a One Club man for 12 years because it was awkward supporting a new club for me. I promise to support the I league but I'll reserve my support to the Kerala team which should join I league soon. My bet is with IL&FS who now owns the Trivandrum Stadium for 15 years.
@atuljg talking about the majority of Kerala that follow euro leagues(i think its same in every state of India ) but there is another section of people who follow and talk about i -league and Indian football for that matter especially in central and northern part of kerala ..and i dont think it is necessary to have local club to follow a league but it helps to create new followers as i started to follow NFL since SBT made to it 2005 (like i started to watch F1 since narain made his entry)...that doesn't mean that i stopped to follow it since SBT relegated from the league .....there is no league in the world tht excite me more than i-league despite all the concernes about its quality
Well to all in this forum, does it really matter if a person was glory hunter and now indian supporter. I like the idea that many and many are thronging to Indian football. Doesn't matter to me if its the I-league or ISL..Let us not be so rigid.. On the contrary instead of branding them "glory Hunter' lets welcome them to INDIAN FOOTBALL..
We want more and more of these converts. Don't we?
