Bajaj Allianz, a joint
venture company between Bajaj Finserv Limited and Allianz SE in
partnership with Mohun Bagan for youth, launched the selection
process for the third season season of Allianz Junior Football Camp
across East and North East India at Hotel Hindustan International
this afternoon. This year, five teenagers will be selected from 120
cities in India from over 700 schools for an international football
camp to be held in Munich, Germany in August. On their return, the
five youngsters would receive training scholarships under the Youth
Development Program of Mohun Bagan. The head of Mohun Bagan youth
development programme, Kalyan Choubey along with Indian national and
current Mohun Bagan footballer Syed Rahim Nabi would comprise the
judges' panel for this initiative across eastern and northeastern
India.
<p style="margin-bottom:0cm" align="JUSTIFY"><br>Commenting on this
initiative, Pinaki Mullick, regional manager - Kolkata, Bajaj
Allianz Life Insurance said in his opening speech “After the
success of the activity across the country in the last two years, we
are proud to be conducting the selection process for the Junior
Football Camp in Kolkata this year in association with Mohun Bagan
youth development. Through this activity, Bajaj Allianz hopes to
provide football in the city with a platform that allows them to live
their craze for the sport.”</p>
<p style="margin-bottom:0cm" align="JUSTIFY"><br>Wilfred Synrem and
Aakash Dave from Kolkata were the talented two to be part of the
Allianz Junior Football Camp held last year in Munich. Aakash Dave
and Wilfred Synrem are currently part of the Mohun Bagan Youth
Development Program. In the last couple years, ten young budding
footballers from across the country had the opportunity to interact
and train with the coaches from FC Bayern Munich - one of the best
football clubs in the world.</p>
<p style="margin-bottom:0cm" align="JUSTIFY"><br>Mohun Bagan club
general secretary, Anjan Mitra, stressed the need for youth
development in football given the steep inflation in player salaries
and the urgent need to build a robust supply line. He explained how
football is increasingly becoming a very lucrative career for
youngsters and investment opportunity worth exploring.</p>
<p style="margin-bottom:0cm" align="JUSTIFY"><br>The head of Mohun
Bagan youth development programme Kalyan Choubey explained the need
of acquainting youngsters with the demands of modern day football,
which is increasingly becoming power and stamina oriented as opposed
to skill, more so in the Euro zone. He went on to add several long
term initiatives Mohun Bagan youth development is planning on and
specifically thanked Bajaj Allianz for their current sponsorship of
Mohun Bagan football school, which has been renewed for another year</p>
<p style="margin-bottom:0cm" align="JUSTIFY"><br>Syed Rahim Nabi, in
his speech focused on scouting the right kind of talent and the
importance of widening the scout network to the remotest of
districts, which he felt was a minefield of talent. Debasish Dutta,
Mohun Bagan finance secretary, presented the case for long term
sponsorships in youth development given that it takes quite a while
for a promising youngster to mature into a full fledged senior team
player.</p>
<p style="margin-bottom:0cm" align="JUSTIFY"><br>Ace designer of
national fame, Agnimitra Paul also graced the occasion to unveil
jerseys for Mohun Bagan football school, designed by her. This will
be the first time in India that football school wards will be
sporting designer jerseys, a trendsetting initiative by Kalyan
Choubey, the head of Mohun Bagan youth development by adding a dash
of glamor in Indian football and most importantly, associating
Agnimitra Paul with Mohun Bagan, hopefully a fruitful journey
together in the years to come. Efforts are underway to incorporate
this design for the senior team as well. In her speech, Ms Paul
explored various marketing and mechandizing opportunities for the
club. She hopes that her son, currently training with Mohun Bagan
Football school, makes it to soccer stardom one day and be the
trendsetter, as she always has been, for others to send their wards
for football training given the professional rewards of a soccer
career nationally and internationally. Our sincere thanks to her for
leading by example and our best wishes for her and Vignesh.</p>

No sooner I proposed this, Kalyan Choubey texted Agnimitra and within a couple minutes both were on the phone discussing right there. The whole idea was implemented in just 10 days.
