Meh, I think this "source" is talking bullshit. I mean, look at those quotes. Even in its current format the "European U-19 or U-21teams" would not come. Also, what compromise? The best foreign players so far in the league have been the younger South Americans and they are either in small Eastern European leagues, back in South America, or elsewhere in Asia. They would not mind staying in India for a full season.
Meanwhile, this is useless until foreigner rules are unveiled in the 2017-18 season and also for the Super Cup.
My hunch here is that fsdl will finally give in to demand for half a season by the football patriots of ISL....expect September -December main league....so that foreigners can be let go by Jan window....most isl jokers clubs would request to withdraw from super cup...as they don't really have an Asian ambition..which would require a team for full year..
I agree that best Foreign Players performance wise were from smaller leagues and they wont mind staying for a full season. But these Franchise wants big names like Anelka, Del Piero, Roberto Carlos, Malouda. These big names are the ones which their sponsors want-only good performace is not enough. For a longer duration league, it becomes difficult to attract big names.
Malouda is currently playing in Egypt! Elano is still in Brazil. Anelka stayed in China for a year and tried to get into the Algerian league. Postiga I doubt would mind living in India for a year, same with Garcia. Mendy even stayed in India for a season, as did guys like Miguel Garcia.
It may be a problem in attracting players, we will certainly lose out to other leagues like MLS, the Arabs, Chinese etc but that was always to be expected but saying that the Malouda's, the Anelka's, or Elano's are gone is ridiculous. They will still come if you can pay it... and that is different issue which is real.
I do hope though that eventually they don't force every team to have that super "marquee". Not every team will be able to pull it off like NorthEast United.
This official must be from KBFC who is probably bankrupt and gone bust by 3rd year or maybe FC Goa official. They are always roping in the cheap shits and we all know about the romantic relationship they are currently having with AIFF and IMG-R

We might not get Anelka, Malouda kinds, but the quality will be a step up from I-League for sure.
And everyday matches are a big no-no.
