Agreed, essel group is huge so and so but what is the state of their football team and why they haven't spent money for a rich owner?
Because, they didn't believe spending more a viable business option for I league. Why? Because no recognition and visibility for the amount spent. Isl equals more visibility which in turn equals more sponsors, hence the eagerness to associate themselves.
MCFC will also gain a lot but it is beneficial to both the parties not only a single team.

Neither any Franchise nor this league is recognised by AFC / FIFA. Kerala Blasters delayed salary by months - no punishment. Even after fights in Finals, ISL is just appointing committees for months. FIFA has no jurisdriction to punish any Franchise for irregularities and bringing Football into disrepute.

Just throw up some Film star/Cricketer acting as owner and some old semi-retired player and everything is fine. This is their mindset.

Interestingly ISL is the only time when AIFF allowed them to detroy whole Domestic Football. Cricket, Hockey, Wrestling - so many IPL type leagues are there. They never interfered or try to destroy other teams, leagues, tournaments.

This nonsense will stop once new system will take place. FIFA will not tolerate this for long. Pressure by FIFA has resulted in this new proposal.

ISL teams will be in First tier and they will be provisionally given AFC recognised status so that they can buy more time. They will still try to organise daily matches and finish their First Tier league before January Transfer window. They can field a very weak team of Indian players in Super Cup so that they do not have to play in AFC Cup.

Second tier teams will be I-League clubs and they will also represent India in AFC Cup.

I-league Second Division will become Third Tier.

Wow... I know you will say this is realistic but this is just a sad, sad view of Indian football.

See ISL cannot be closed down. AIFF agreed to IMG-Reliance demand of IPL type league before they signed the deal. If you close down ISL, that will be cheating and breach of trust.
You cannot run a league just by marketing and paid media without adhering to any rules/regulations.In my opinion they underestimated the game and spirit of Football.

The teams which will represent India in Asia automatically becomes the top teams of the country. If they come from tier 2 that's cause the system is fucked and should be overthrown.

Their idea of Super Cup is formulated for ISL franchise to escape from AFC Cup commitments.

They can field a very weak team of Indian players in Super Cup so that they do not have to play in AFC Cup.

Even if ISL teams field a weak team of Indian players in Super Cup, they will be having the best lot of Indian players compared to the lower tier teams. You will be having the likes of Chettri in ISL side and Durga Boro for a league one side. Even without foreigners, winning the Super Cup will be a piece of cake for most ISL teams....And I find it really difficult to believe that ISL teams will let go of all the 10 foriegners signed during regular season. Representing in AFC cup will pull in more revenues for the ISL teams in terms of sponsors. Dont see , why ISL teams will try to find excuses of not taking part in AFC cup.

How are we even sure they will go into the Super Cup without foreigners and also, why would they not play in Asian competition? There is so much gain from it.

one thing that has been nagging me since the proposal came out. ISL will be a 10 teams stretching for 7 months. That is almost 28 weeks. With each team playing 18 games, thatvis only 20 weeks of football if we take into account play offs? that leaves a gap of 8 weeks in the calendar, how are they going to stretch the season?
