1) John Abraham was asked question that he is supposed to be owning 90 to 95% of North East United FC. He avoided the question and neither agreed nor denied. Is he really the owner or just a face for someone else?
2) He said that clubs like Mohun Bagan and East Bengal are losing money. North East United is also losing money. If losing money is the bad criteria, he is on the same boat.
John owns 90 His producer "friend" owns 1 percent Brahmaputra pvt ltd Guwahati owns the rest of the shares He doesn't spend more than 6 cr per season,ok either him or his "friend"
With talks of BFC, MB & EB getting entry into ISL and DSK & Mumbai FC merging with existing teams, who would play in the proposed League 1.the above teams (except DSK) are the only ones to have some serious fan support. If they leave, League 1will lose all its appeal. The bargaining power of the new teams would not be significant and FSDL may end up having their way. Couple of games on TV every week and they will be relieved of their duty to promote the lower divisions.
By 2022 the ISL clubs won't have their immunity from relegation... So at that point we might see the ISL expanding to 16teams
Next 5 years I feel will be status quo
They won't be able to force the new " merger" As clubs will go to court and India risk being based by FIFA Infantino isn't as easy to pacify like Sep Blatter
MB and EB will nicely be let in if they make much noice BFC will do whatever it takes to be a part of this league NE clubs will settle for League One and Two Other clubs will merge Only SCG and Salgaocar have problem with the proposed idea But then again it's IMG-R ,they will find a way like they always do
