I did some digging and read somewhere that for AFC champions League, we need a 8 month league and for AFC cup, we need a 6 month league. Is it true?

Depends. A-League is technically 8 months with the play-offs included. 7 months for the league season.

So last year how long was the I-League? This year atleast Mohun bagan is eligible for AFC cup as well as Play-offs for AFC Champion League.

Myanmar had a qualifier spot and there league lasts for 3 months!

Salary cap can be 100 crores,but that doesn't mean a team will spend that amount..Also I believe the difference between ISL and I-League is more than just in the no. of foreign players.

This is why I want a minimum salary cap as well. Salary cap could be calculated each year based on the guaranteed central sponsorship money that each club will get. Kerala Blaster's austerity has cost us a chance this season.

would like to see a rule according to which a club should spent atleast 18 cr where as the salry cap should be 25 cr

@atuljg That is not true. Afghanistan with 1 month semi pro league is getting direct entry in AFC cup.

Atul, Austerity is the first sure proof that ownership has changed hands to genuine owners mate. relax there isnt any relagation and it wont matter if blasters finish last or not.

If there is steady growth in the goals year on year then thats fine.
