As PP said ISL will be recognized as a tournament ....then with 8 or 10 teams it will run for 7 months ? Then may be each team playing other 5 times & best of 5 semi finals & best of 5 finals ? Surely PP had something special in his breakfast today. But it is a good comedy.
Star will show ISL every evening at 7-00 in 10 channels. Ten will show I-League on weekends...No time for Cricket....that gives an opportunity to Baba Ramdev to start an exclusive Cricket channel named "Baba Kirkit" or "Kirkit Baba"
Evidently, PP has no clue to whatever is happening around him. Or he is waiting for his lines to come from Aunty. He is continuously parroting the line 'I-league is main, ISL is just a tournament'. While that 'just a tournament' is poised to take the top three of the I-league and the 'main league' I-league is set to be reduced to a rump (what with teams like NEROCA, SS, and Fateh will fill the gaps).
I doubt whether DSK,Minerva,CCFC,Churchill would sustain for long-term as much as I doubt ISL teams As successful teams like JCT,Mahindra,Dempo,Salgoacar couldn't last
Just hope they make both leagues marketable and sustainable and or atleast atleast cut down the losses
teams shutting down at this stage wouldn't be good for Indian Football
This move will definitely kill i league in 2-3 years, and these legacy clubs will have no other option but to surrender to img-reliance's demands then.By looking at things right now,for the Big 3 clubs it is easy and safe to surrender to aiff now rather than making it complicated in coming years..dont know what will happen to other clubs!!
They are not supposed to sustain. They are temporary, mere numbers to fill up I-league roaster. Just fodder for FSDL, propped up for them by PP. Question is, why they agreed to play the bit-role offered to them. I think they are grossly sub-standard, so couldn't resist the lure of some limelight, however transient be it. They will vanish as quickly as they appeared.
ISL clubs I think are a different case. As the owners are taking charge of franchisees, they will merely change hands when the going gets tough. Example: KBFC, FCG. The brands will stay, owners may change.
One thing is clear amid this murky weather: none of the leagues will be sustainable. They will conflict with each other. And Indian football would take the maximum hit.

There should be an end to this hypocrisy.
