@munna219777 spot on. ISL is a sort of invitational type tournament which not officially recognized. AIFF knows that, so from time to time PP is saying that I-League is the no. 1 league. If he says anything else AIFF will get a sanction from AFC/FIFA. But being a faithful dog of Aunty, tail wagging is a must. Thus confusion remains.
One thing for sure...Circus can't be held for more than its current duration as so called franchises can't afford to have players for the full year. So we are going to continue with the same set up till franchise kings lose interests (may be in a couple of years) or Aunty gets fed up with managing so many franchises alone. Till then we will have Oct-Dec ISL,  Jan- May I-League & Fedetation Cup, Jun-Sep. Speculations.
Also Super Cup can't replace Federation Cup simply because if any ISL franchise wins..it can never represent India as it falls short of Licencing Criteria & also they have to field a team in Feb, Mar, Apr, May when they don't officially have any squad.

This roadmap is complete bullshit and further proves the point that IMG-Reliance had no fucking clue what they were doing when they created the ISL and that they thought they could run an IPL 2-3 month league for ages.

Also exposes a false fact about Indian sport in that you can do an IPL short league and be successful when we all know that if they could, the BCCI would make the IPL all year if they wanted.

On their defense, IMG-R made it a pre-condition when they decided to associate themselves with AIFF. They wanted IPL style private league, something which was already present in Cricket and Hockey. Only when AIFF gave them a green light, they associated themselves with AIFF. If ISL is not there, they have no interest in indian football. They would like to recoup their investment.

This is a different matter whether both AIFF and IMG-R did proper research before initiating it? Did they take FIFA / AFC in confidence? For the first edition, they did invite some FIFA and AFC people. They also said the same thing, they recognise I-League as official league. They were presented this logic that in the name of fake owners like Bollywood or cricket stars, people will come to the stadiums. After that what !!!!

Some mysterious guy is tweeting from Australia that he will be starting a new ISL team from Gujarat.

Merger was never on the table. If they wanted merger, they would have done it from starting only.
Football is very diifferent then Cricket and Hockey. There are regulations, criteria, eligibility for a reason.

@hassan, when they are planning simultaneous run for ISL and I-league, it is clear that I-league will be the lower division, because

    i) stadiums will be booked for ISL, and I-league will soon be an appendage, played in lesser stadiums,
ii) Weekend slots will be for ISL, pushing I-league matches at 4:00 PM on weekdays,
iii) players will join cash-rich ISL, I-league will have to make do with state league players,
iv) Hero will continue to to sponsor I-league because of a package deal, but the value will be very less (for obvious reasons), so the sheen will go down,
    v) I-league transmission will be bad and erratic, citing the non-availability of equipment in NE, making it more unpopular in comparison.

After all this and more, Pappu will still continue to say I-league is the main league and ISL is just a tournament.

AFC will not have any problem to accept I-league as the premier league. IMG-R will also be happy because they will have an wider window, and are shielded from FIFA/ AFC botheration. ISL clubs do not bother about AFC/ ACL slots, because these are mere irritants to their scheme of things; so these will go to I-league teams, which will be burden to those hapless clubs.

Just wondering, how much Pappu got paid by IMG-R for implementing this. And if AFC accepts this (two leagues), then the gravy train must have reached their side as well.

I am awaiting Utpal Dada's blue print of the Rebel League.....surely a great (!!) thinking from a man who can't organize CFL properly & killed IFA Shield.
With Pappu & his ... Squad along with Utpal dada, we will always have comedy at the expense of Football.

@ArsenalFan700, their scheme is to earn as much as possible from football in India and move not a finger for anything else as far as football is concerned. They don't mind stifling the other clubs that play football, not releasing footballers for national team friendlies, zero youth development (and maximum show off in this field).

Like a nationwide reality show, their aim is just to grab maximum eyeballs, nothing beyond that.

AIFF actually is doing things after consultation with the likes of FIFA and AFC. Even now, they will discuss with AFC before proceeding. So, all this talk about ban, sanctions from FIFA and AFC is rubbish.
