Even your club is looking for a buyer...but not willing to let go of more than 49%

That's the stumbling block...or else they would be easily absorbed into ISL

UB owns 50% of the football team, unless someone buys them out its not gonna happen. The 50% stake which the club holds can't be sold, as its a democratic club and would never pass a governing body meeting.

AFAIK, that's 50%. Either ways, it's too early to cry foul, wait and watch this merger game. By 2017 there might not be 8 original ISL franchises left :D

Just cause the clubs are broke and might fall out does not stop this plan from being implemented. It would be a massive drawback for ISL and Indian football if they do go but this is a league that is only in its 3rd year, you are going to have a few teams come and fold while some can be sustainable. That is true for any league.

The only reason KBFC and DD were finding it difficult to get new buyers , because they were overinflating their stakes....else kbfc had some local businessmen as buyers as well. But they were unwilling to pay so much....Come on , even before ISL started there were like 15-20 bidders who submmited bid for a franchisee....Today more people are interested to be part of ISL. Its just a piece of cake for IMG-R to rope in a new franchisee , in case anyone shuts down.
KBFC already have new partners(The Hyderabad-based media and entertainment house Prasad Group has secured an 80 per cent share ) and  DDFC is closing in on their deal (Den Networks has agreed to divest its 55 per cent equity to GMS for around Rs43 cr)..just a matter of time.
...As for NUFC, John is dumb with his comments, but he is very passionate about his team and least likely to let go of an avenue which he can use to promote himself, his films, his brands. So NO,,,NUFC is fine.....
btw as some people dream of ISL franchisees to shut shop, I doubt any of the existing I league clubs will even make into the next season....Rumours are that SC goa Salgaocar and even dempo are shutting down. Shutting down of clubs is a matter of concern and not to be made fun of.

Ha ha..living in a bubble are we? You won't get a KBFC replacement and also replacing NEUFC would be difficult. Listen to what gaffer is saying, see their teams and you would get an idea. KBFC just loaded a bunch of EB oldies again and this time there is no Morgan to blame. They dont have money. My hunch, we will see 4 new teams in ISL in 2018, and 3 of them would be from I-League and total teams won't exceed 10.

Just because your East Bengal isnt a part of ISL, theres no necessity for wishful thinking.,,,KBFC has shit management, doesnt have money, all I agree. But do you think that IMG-R is that dumb to let go of a team that can draw massive crowds that is non Kolkata or Goa or NE based?? Regarding player selections lets not jump the gun here, they have signed some young guys as well Vinit Rai, Farukh Choudhary and Nima Tamang..., besides Rino Anto, CK Vineeth and Mohammed Rafi arent bad either...haokip isnt confirmed.  Transfers arent complete yet, so lets not judge a team when theres a lot of time left....

PS- one financially struggling club's fan pointing fingers at another financially struggling club  :o :s

The signings being made by Blasters should be an indication though of their situation, they are also being super silent on social media, not posting since January.

If you took the social media team from NorthEast United, and the early signings from them, and the crowds Kerala Blasters can get, that would be a great team.
