If it is so...then very unfortunate, because Kerala has given many great footballers to the NT. Crowd in a match in Kerala is most of the time fantastic. Hope Kerala football stays afloat & regain their lost glory.
Regaining glory etc is a bottom up approach and not top down. Proven by all nations who have improved in football since 1930s. So a KBFC or CFC won't make a difference in the big picture unless they invest heavily on grass roots and infrastructure which they aren't.
Also the point I am making is that despite all the IMG-R cum shots and facials, 3 of the 8 franchises are struggling financially after 2 seasons. Says a lot of their planning and the entire viability of the league. Expect ATK to loose big money this season as gate sales would be miniscule if they play at Siliguri or Barasat (25k and 16k capacity respectively). Also you can't price tickets in Siliguri as you do in Kolkata. Heck, Siliguri doesn't even have a 5 star hotel.
Whats really dumb is thinking a couple of franchises losing money will make sure all plans are derailed. Whats really unviable is the current I-league and its shit revenue model. I-league clubs are losing money and patience faster than ISL franchises who can still attract owners IF the Revenue model is clear.
So the United States and Australia have not improved in football since the 1930s or do they not count since they have never won a World Cup or something?
See the way it is being foretold that only ISL clubs get to play in premier league and all clubs who were actually part of the premier league in the last 20-25 years is incorrect. Why will the Actual premier league clubs together bow down to a total franchise League?
We can understand areas where there is no existing football culture and we want to nurture football culture there by bringing in a franchise. but surely not where there already exists a culture, a passion which if dented will hurt the sentiments of millions. This is not how football progresses or does it??
USA/Australia might be having a franchise league, but were all proper footballing clubs having a proper culture shown the doors all at once???
This is how you create a new idea by eliminating? and having faith in new dumbies who have not yet proven enough or proven for long? Its not just history MB or EB have, they are the flag bearers of Indian football for long enough for any practical person to realize that this isn't just possible.
A league purely on financial terms will succeed? even if it does, I haven't heard of a league where there is minimum capitation fee that too which is almost double of all existing standard. ofcourse we are all businessman and that gains priority.
It would be dumb on the part of AIFF if they neglect clubs which have rendered enough service to Indian football for a long long time.
"a passion which if dented will hurt the sentiments of millions. This is not how football progresses or does it??"
What millions? Seriously, all the people who take the shit out of the ISL are acting as if we were prosperous before the Indian Super League started.
And yes, you guys are being shown the door and based on the last couple days you choose to ignore why that is happening, it is the fault of the clubs, not just the AIFF and IMG-Reliance. Mohun Bagan has over 100 years yet they are nothing on the footballing scale, your management has fucked you guys over just as much, if not more, than the federation has.
@ArsenalFan700, you do not have an iota of understanding so keep shut.
"Mohun Bagan has over 100 years yet they are nothing on the footballing scale, your management has fucked you guys over just as much, if not more, than the federation has."
utter nonsense. GO through the history of Indian football and see for yourself what contribution of MB or EB has been. People doing a blind fold are just glory hunters of the inernet
What happens when one fine day Nita wakes up and realises she is no more interested in football.poof!! There goes the complete indian top tier as forseen by the dumbtards at aiff.
All of the sham clubs have only boasted of huge losses they are sacrificing for indian football . This is without any kind of investment in academy/training set up etc. What will happen when even these costs come to qualify for AFC licenses
Imdian football is littered with businessman closing successful clubs overnight. Having a whole top league filled such random entities is a risk managers nightmare and threatens the whole viability of indian football...the ahoddy PPT from Chirag & the convicted match fixer raman notwithstanding
