BTW, love this quote from Dani in regards to Pasha's signing: "We welcome Sabir and I am confident that the first team and the club’s grassroots program will benefit from his experience"
Something has to be cooking in regards to youth development and Pasha has experience now with the AIFF Elite Academy and the youth set-up so he knows a bit about this.
I quite like his appointment, lets face it he isnt an unknown in Tamil nadu football circles, has exp at grass root levels and with youngsters.
Coming back to CFC in a longer league is really i dont know.
The only sure sport given enough attention is cricket and probably Basketball, rest other sports are either not supported at a state sports ministry level nor supported at a central level where Tamil nadu historically despite doing well has always been ignored.
The same way people were surprised at the enthusiasm of CFC with almost non existant localites in ISL, people could throng back in a longer league. every thing is a first here so nothing can be granted.
Even the city league only lasts 3-4 months and is run in a semi professional way.
In a longer league am 90% confident you could see BFC numbers of say 10-11k avg crowds. Will be wierd if this is played in Nehru stadium which is massive and will look mostly empty even if a 11k are there.
Now Chennai Super Kings is suspended for 2 years. With no Hockey team or I-League club either from Chennai, Chennaiyin FC will be top franchise team from Chennai for fans to support.
John Goossens season in the ISL was shortened by his own goal keeper...else he was a decent player. In 2014 their midfield had good foreigners in Pennant Kostas Goossens....They lacked quality both in attack and defence hence the team was bound to fail
