Its more because of that David Platt , who made the team a guineapig and kept on rotating the team..A player needs to settle down and play 90 mins games...He's still a good player for ISL or I-League IMO
A month or two ago I would have said Cesar Romero, perfect for I-League. Guy kicked ass in Armenia after a disappointing time in MLS but did well in Eastern Europe. He signed with a Mexican 2nd Division team though a month ago.
In terms of other guys though, I guess Aldo de Nigris is my first shoutout. Guy was a regular good scorer in Mexico but now, at the age of 32, is finding playing time hard with Monterrey. No doubt though he will have offers from around Mexico's smaller top division clubs but he would not be a bad signing for ISL. Vincente Vuoso is another guy but he is a regular with Cruz Azul off the bench, may be hard to tempt him.
Carlos Saucedo used to play for Fulham, is a 35 year old fullback, bit of a regular for Guadalajara, who are moy shit right now. Ricardo Osorio is also another 35 year old who could be tempted to come to India but that depends on whether Monterrey think he is done.
Gonzalo Peneda just retired after the 2015 season with Seattle Sounders. So he is surely free, would be a good DM.
Omar Bravo is the dream. 35-year old who is with a shit Guadalajara but has 10 goals this season. Who knows with CDG on whether they would keep him or look to move him on. Francisco Fernandes is also a good shout. Jose Magallon barely plays anymore for Leon, only 34 years old.
And then of course, you have the former Barcelona player himself, 37 year old Rafa Marquez... a guy who every Mexican loves but ever Red Bulls fan (including me) hates as he showed barely any care when he came to MLS but got payed well. Whether ISL should go for him, I don't think so.
