I dont expect at prime players coming to India and dont have problem with one/two/three foreigners who is in late 30s ( Marquee). 35-38 at most  Problem is when  team has mostly foreigners in late 30s
    1) Lucio (38)
    2)Luciano 36
    3) Moura 37
    4) Reinaldo 36
    5) Arnolin 35
    6) Jofre 36
    7) Andrade 36
    8) Victor Simoes 35 ( later released)
(Thank god atleast they were not allowed to sign odafa)

Add one more year if they all return in ISL 3.

If you are talking about Drogba, does montreal Impact have most of their foreigners who are reaching their 40s? You might say age is not a factor, they are playing well and experienced...but ISL becomes a joke when a team filled with 37-40 year old goes and plays the final and also cries for match fixing in the end. I dont see so many aged players in other teams playing together in ISL. Hope you are getting my point.

Well the 38 year old moura and Lucio are better then your random European who come to. ISL for payday. btw the oldest team in isl reached finals and lost because they were not in the winning script your young ATK failed to qualify for final.

Overall, not many reaching their 40s but they did have 4 other guys who were 30 or older (30, 31, 32, and 36) in their last starting line-up. LA currently has 6 guys over 30 in the Champions League, 3 of which 35.

I agree with you though, that is a lot of guys who were over 30 but I think more importantly, how many of those over 30 guys contributed? Lucio was good, Moura was good, Reinaldo only did well towards the end, Arnolin was good but was he as good as he was in 2014? Jofre was decent, Andrade lost his spot to Kattimani, Luciano was average, and Simoes did nothing.

For foreigners, I don't care if they are older, as long as they are not all over 36 or something and that we can get some young guys in, we have seen what younger guys like Mendoza, Dos Santos, Pelissari, Dagnall, German, Velez, etc. can do, if we can add more of them then that would be great. A lot of these younger guys come from South America or East Asian leagues (Velez). Even with the salary cap, we should be able to sign these guys and now, good news, is that the marquee player does not count against the cap so ideally we should see better (younger), guys and also a better marquee player who can play (more Elano's please).

As long as the Indians that are played are younger then I am fine but that is another discussion.

@goalkeepar One of the better players in the league is a Canadian who played a lot his career in England, Chris Dagnall and Antonio German did very well with Kerala Blasters while Bywater, Ramage, and Josue were not terrible either, Bernard Mendy is French and one of the better defenders in the league, Mulder was great for Delhi, as was the Spanish contingent at Atletico de Kolkata.

    Sit down.

Hume is American. Antonio German is African. Mendy Aldo African and others were made with genetics of south American players by the British in Cold war.

Hume was born in Scotland and played in England. German was born and raised in London and Mendy was born and raised in France. Don't move the goalposts here.

ATK won final in season one ...and reached semis in season 2 . A fan cant expect more than that.

Majority of the foreigners in ISL are either currently playing in 2nd or 3rd tier in the top 5 european leagues. Some are even part of teams in top leagues outside europe as well. It doesnt matter what ethnicity or race they are so long they are playing in some of the better leagues. Your so calld Moura is currently playing in serie D Brasil . Thats FC Goas best player.. It cant get worse than that. He is not getting younger. And his form is bound to dip next year. One of the reasons why Jofre was released by ATK, as he became more of a 45 minutes player and was out of game time for a year as well. That speaks about the type of signings FC Goa are looking for..

I even forgot to mention Goa signed Daryl Duffy and replaced with Dudu as well. (Clap) They signed 2 I league foreigners   and was hoping to get Odafa as well.. I agree Lucio and moura were phenomenal... FC Goa could have done without the other old foreigners and gone for younger and better alternatives. Why play so many old guys . Simply dont sign them or replace them with Indians. I wont be surprised if FC Goa goes and signs Joel Sunday and Alfred Jaryan ...and maybe James Moga as well along with a bunch of 38 year olds. I see FC Goa signing as cost cutting measures

Luciano Sabrosa and Darryl Duffy were signed in early September, the other foreigners from FC Goa were signed earlier. It is obvious that these two were signed as they were cheap and had experience in the I-League (well, definitely cause they were cheap). Dudu came in later. Zico is not an idiot and probably wanted to sign someone better.

Moura was always going to do good. He played for Fort Lauderdale in the US 2nd Division NASL and that league I believe is equal in terms of quality with ISL (at least the better teams are and all around) and he was good with them. There are guys in the J1 League and the Thai Premier League who played in Serie C and D in Brazil.

  • According to @goalkeepar logic FC Goa didnt play bad in the finals. They lost because they were not in the winning script..
By that same logic its proved that they played bad in the tournament and were only in the finals because they were in the finals script....Its all fixed!!

@ArsenalFan700  The serie C and D players that are playing in some top asian leagues are definitely not 37 year olds...Those leagues sign guys with potential....correct me if I am wrong...if you are signing a 4th division player, why not sign younger players. I doubt a player like Lucca (21) would want similar wages like the others in his team. Besides, Lucca is not a random player. He was a part of Roma, later joined AP and played in the state leagues. Now he is in Malaysia with rumours of some Russian clubs wanting to sign him. So if FC Goa can sign a guy like him, why not get more of those? What is this extra affection for an old brigade, that you have 7 foreigners who are approaching 40?
