  • 2 people are allowed in a particular category from one country. Atleast this was the rule till 2016 Olympics.
    Official document

Also look at 58 kilo results where both Gold and Silver went to Thai lifter.

  • One unclear part is there that whether two weightlifters of one country can get qualified for Olympics thru one event !!!

The quota place is allocated to the athlete by name in the Individual Qualification. Should an NOC qualify more than one (1) athlete through the Individual Qualification, the NOC can decide which of these athletes will get the quota place

In that case Mirabai will have to lift more than 205kg and she will most likely be fighting for the Silver/Bronze Medal (More specifically for Bronze Medal).

She needs to improve both Snatch and Clean and Jerk but more specifically she needs to improve her Snatch Event.

Decent performance at Asian Table Tennis by our Paddlers as well.No Medal(Semi-Finals) guarantees you a medal.

Sathiyan reached the Quarter-Finals (becoming just second Indian to do so in Men's Singles) before losing to Chinese Opponent. One step away from a medal.

Sathiyan ,then teamed up with Achanta and reached the Quarter-Finals before they lost narrowly(3-2 games) against Chinese Opponents. Very close match(had they won,I think it would have been first ever medal)

In the WOMEN'S side Ayika Mukherjee reached Round of 16(Pre-quarter) where she eventually lost to Ding Ning(World No.4 and current Olympic Championship ) and managed to take a game from her.Decent Achievement.

Manika Batra is nowhere to be seen recently. Perhaps her focus too has shifted after getting the fame.

Overall,Our Table Tennis squad has improved significantly. If we keep this up then our Team for both Men and Women may qualify for the Olympics for (First Time ever).

Why is tax payer money being wasted on this crap TT player?

All of these sports federations must be made to earn their own costs and manage their expenditures independently without any tax payer money. We should not be sending anyone to Asian Games, WC, Olympics unless they prove to be genuine medal contenders. No more swimmers, walkers, athletics, archery, etc. All of these pos should be cut off and their government jobs taken away.
