Group Stage - Second Place with 9 points BFC started the journey with 2-1 loss against Lao Toyota FC and 1-0 home loss to JDT. It was remarkable after 2 loss in the group to qualify, Away win 1-0 against Myanmar team Ayeyawady United and return leg saw 8 goal thriller where BFC pumped 5 goals with all Indian line up and beating Lao 2-1 in the home leg before losing to JDT in the final encounter of group stage 3-0 in Johor. With 3 wins and 3 loss in the mixed performance, placed second in the standing. Vineeth and Alywn netted brace in the group stage and scoring was distributed well among the team.
Round of Sixteen - Kitchee 2-3 BFC
Bengaluru’s Round of 16 elimination last year at the hands of Kitchee’s rival South China and they got off to a poor start again as Segovia put the hosts in front on seven minutes as he stooped to head in Lo Kwan Yee’s cross at the back post.
